There is a GCLP meeting Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at T.F. Brown's restaurant, 214 Main St., Batavia NY
 
Topics to be discussed are moving from a chapter to  a county committee, attracting candidates for office, and new rules for voting and petitioning in NYS.
 If you  know of or have anyone who is interested in running for office please ask them to attend.

GCLP January Meeting  1/8/2019 6:31 p.m.

Atternding:  Lisa , Richard and Sarah (guest) Whitehead, Anna and Mark Potwora, Joe Ferrara (guest) and Brenda Ranney, Carolyn  Pratt, Colin McAllister, Dave Olsen, Jim and Deb Rosenbeck (via facetime), Barb and Jeff Gray, John Adams, Mark and Kathy Glogowski.

Call to order and welcome new guests
November minutes: motion to approve Dave and 2nd Carolynn
Treasurer Report presented
Chair Report: Mark P.-- Glad to see new faces. Voter registration cards now have Libertarian party listed as choice, urges all libertarians to re-register with new cards.
Vice Chair Report: Dave O.-- set a goal to raise LP registration. 105 registered libertarians in Genesee County (confirmed from Jan 12 email)   Shoot for 300. Press release seeking new candidates for upcoming elections.
State Rep Report:  Colin-- Rules were talked about and a transitional committee for the judicial district. 5 new TCCs show growth.

LPNY Chair: Jim R.--Newly formed political party will be formed under rules to form a transitional committee following the 8th judicial district( Orleans, Wyoming, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Alleghany, Chatauqua and Cattaraugus). Three counties with chapters will decide on a representative. This temporary rep. will last until Spring elections and the convention will be even more involved in deciding representatives.

Old Business

Clarification on Rules filed with NYBOE;  Bylaws- whatever is chosen and Rules- follow state law and Robert’s rules.

Campaign Committee; body of people to look/guide/ help candidates.  Seek good candidates thorough vetting and help along the way done through existing not for profit.  Raising money is key.

New Business

2019 Goals:  Increase enrollment, draft letter/press release to registered Libertarians, campaign structure/committee ad fundraising.
Larry Sharpe is still out there connecting with people: events on January 17, on air with Kimberly and Beck and at a restaurant/pub.  January 18, EB West, Fredonia.
