St. James Church to hold Christmas Eve services, 5:30 p.m. option will feature renowned soprano Emily Tworek-Helenbrook

St. James Episcopal Church will hold Christmas Eve services beginning at 5:30 with a family service with Holy Communion, hymns, candlelight and children’s presentation. This service will feature soprano soloist Emily Tworek-Helenbrook, a senior at Eastman School of Music, who recently competed at the University of Oxford, London. This competition was limited to nine singers, worldwide. She will sing “Gesu Bambino” by Pietro Yon and “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by J.S. Bach. The St. James Sunday School will present a short play entitled “The Little Drummer Boy.” Prior to the 10:30 p.m. service, there will be a 15-minute musical prelude with organ, brass, piano and congregational singing. At 10:30 we will have a Holy Eucharist with choir, organ, brass and candlelight. All are welcome to these celebrations of Christmas joy. The Rev. Bonnie F. Morris Rector
