A 50-year-old Alexander resident who may not be in the country legally is accused of raping a coworker and then, when deputies showed up to investigate the rape report, he is accused of presenting them with forged documents.

Domingo Gomez-Gomez, 50, of Alexander Road, Alexander, is charged with rape in the first degree, possession of a forged instrument, and offering a false instrument for filing with intent to defraud.

The alleged rape was reported about 1 a.m. on April 28 after Gomez-Gomez forced a female coworker to have sexual intercourse with him.

When he was questioned by Deputy Investigator Joseph Loftus and Investigator Christopher Parker, Gomez-Gomez allegedly produced numerous false instruments to identify himself.

He was arraigned Saturday and jailed on $100,000 bail or $200,000 bond.

ICE is investigating whether Gomez-Gomez is in the country legally.

I can picture Mr. Gomez pulling out multiple licenses and telling the officers "That's not the right license, I think it's this one, no? Maybe it's this one or this other one"

Thomas - you seem to be under the delusion that everybody who states an opinion to the left of you (and I suspect that includes many, many people) is some commie liberal anarchist bent on letting illegal immigrants take everything they want from this country. It is not a pretty delusion, and does not reflect well on you (even in jokes).

I am for a strong border, but not wasting $20B on a fence.

I am for immigration reform, but that sadly gets shot down by folks who believe that immigrants are bad/evil...which is ironic for anybody who is not a Native American.

I am against citizenship for illegal immigrants as their first act in this country was a crime. Permanent residence for those that qualify? Absolutely.

I am against this draconian philosophy of rounding up all illegal immigrants and shipping them "back to where they came from" due to a number of reasons (in no particular order): the cost would be prohibitive; it is inevitable that errors would be made and citizens/legal residents who looked too similar in skin tone or dress to those being deported would be corralled and sent away; the economic impact on farming, construction, and other industries would be absolutely huge - check the news to read about farmers who cannot get people to harvest their crops.

Was it you who chastised me last week concerning throwing mud? Regardless, based on that chastising I re-wrote my comment, taking away the mud. Sad you cannot learn the same lesson.
