Today's Polls: Should Rep. Chris Collins attend gun forum reportedly organized by teens?

By Howard B. Owens
Ed Hartgrove

As there was no "linked" article about a "gun forum reportedly organized by teens", I wasn't quite sure what the poll question was referring to. Doing a search led me to an article at http://www.wben.com/articles/collins-declines-participate-student-organ…

By statements made in that article, in my opinion, Rep. Collins is guessing that he would be "vilified" and shouted down by the attendees, to the point of not getting his "message" heard. One never knows, until they try. I suppose, it's much easier to sit back and say, "I would attend, but won't, because...", than it is to take a chance. After all, isn't that what politicians do best - take the path of least resistance?

Why would anyone want to meet with misguided youth? These kids are being used and they don't realize it. Only in America would someone march and protest in order to Give Up Rights. It really doesn't matter to me what their message may be, unless they wish to repeal the SAFE-ACT, I as a mature adult wish to keep any and all Rights I now enjoy. If I am somehow killed or die while enjoying those Rights, so be it. Quote me please,.. " I would rather die with my Rights than to live without them. "

Yeah... how DARE kids who are close to voting age DARE let their voices be heard!!!

And how brave of Collins to avoid them! I mean, nothing declares a belief in oneself as a politician and policy-maker than AVOIDING KIDS!

Sad... so sad...

(separate comment so easier to whack if going a bit over the line)

It takes real balls to avoid your constituents. Rep. Collins - Grow a freaking pair and do your job of listening to the people you are supposed to represent.

Mr. Collins, listen to these children when they have the maturity to meet with you one-on-one in your Office like the rest of your constituents do if they believe strongly on an issue.

Mr. Collins..the same guy who ignores his constituents by deeming town hall forums moot. " "I have never seen the value of the time commitment for a town hall," = Chris Collins, 3/17.
I, as a right leaning centrist, wish Kathy Hochul was still our rep in congress. She listened to her constituents, even when it might not mesh with her own thoughts. Chris Collins is a Trump shrill, cares about HIS bottom line, and needs to be voted out.
Libertarians??? Anyone??
