Video: Batavia's 'Vintage' mall

I just stumbled on this video on YouTube --  "Hidden Vintage Mall: Batavia City Centre."

The show notes: A nice little find in the heart of Western NY, Enjoy!

The producer, Ace's Adventures, seems to take a keen interest in old malls.

He included a vintage Kmart commercial at the start, probably because of the connection with JCPenney.

Eric - I think it's rather symbolic, the mall drawing in drops of despair from the sky instead of shoppers, the sound of each tap in the bucket a sobering reminder of better times, before half of Main Street was torn down for an empty hulk of brutalist architecture. Each time they begin to fill with rain from unsound roof, much like this failure in urban renewal itself, they are akin to tears running down the face of the City and a small reminder of what could have been....
