Jack Davis says 'buy American'

By Howard B. Owens

Press release:

Statement from Jack Davis, Independent Candidate for Congress (NY-26), on Report from the Bureau of Economic Analysis showing 1st quarter economic growth of 1.8 percent as the trade deficit widened:

Today’s report confirms what people outside Washington and Wall Street already knew: The economy is not getting better.

Today’s report shows the trade deficit widened as businesses bought imported goods to restock their inventories.

We need to put Americans back to work, and the surest way to do that is to make more of what we buy. If each American spent just 18 cents a day on American made products, it would put 200,000 people to work.

Every dollar spent on imports represents a job an American doesn’t have.

Both parties in Washington continue to push failed economic policies that send our jobs overseas and make us dependent on imports from unstable foreign sources.

Robert Caplick

That would be a great idea, but most distributors offer imported products, so it is a longer line of problems than just buying American. Check out the Made in America Store in Elma, NY....

Jack Davis is 100% right on the money. We used to make those everyday things right here in Western New York, TVs, radios, appliances large and small, shoes, clothing, flatware, china, lightbulbs. All of it gone, exported jobs and industry. Instead of throwing money away to big oil, wall street bankers and corporations our tax dollars should have been used right here to rebuild America. A vote for Jack Davis is a good first step.

John, as flattering as your calling me Jack Davis's main spokesman, I speak for myself. Jack Davis has made it clear in every statement that I have seen published and approved by him, that he is opposed to the military being used as a main instrument of foriegn policy and supports curbing future military actions without the express input from congress. It is one of the main reasons I support Jack Davis. I also support Jack Davis because he is the only candidate that will be an independent voice for the 26th. District and will act to represent the people of the district rather than the special interests of Wall Street investment banks and corporations that have exported American jobs and American industry. Jack Davis has actually run a successful business and created good paying, long term jobs locally as well as taking care to see that the business he founded will go to the employees of that business when he retires. In short John, Jack Davis says what he means and means what he says. Find another man or women that has given as much to improve the community and put back a substantial portion of their wealth as Jack Davis has and I just might support him or her if they run for office. Now, if you think that any of the three other candidates can match Jack Davis's record of service to our community and our country, then by all means enlighten me.

Edmund,
You have mentioned Bush a number of times. In your personal opinion then, if you think Bush is/was guilty of a crime for Iraq, do you think Obama is for his current policy of bombing Libya?
