Photos: Notre Dame 'Grotto'

By Howard B. Owens

This is the "Grotto to Our Lady of Lourdes," or "The Grotto," on the campus of Notre Dame High School, just off Richmond Avenue.

The photos are from last night.

Very nice pictures, Howard

I believe you will find that the Grotto is named Our Lady of Lourdes.

Our Lady of Lourdes is the name used to refer to the apparitions of the Blessed Mother to Bernadette Soubirous (Saint Bernadette) starting on 11 February 1858 around Lourdes, France. A replica of the Lourdes Shrine can also be found at the University of Notre Dame where it is frequented 24/7 by residents and visitors.
