Today's Poll: Are you concerned that Ebola could spread in the U.S.?

By Howard B. Owens

I wonder if everyone who voted yes read the article?

I'm not concerned that it will, but rather I'm more concerned that it will continue to become an issue internationally. We have so much in this country, that we sometimes just don't realize how poor the rest of the world really is.

"UNICEF estimates that 9.7 million children under 5 die each year of preventable diseases. That’s 25,000 every day..."

My goodness how heartbreaking.

from what I understand if you come down with the stuff, it'll kill you and two things I know about death are that everyone has to do it and you only have to do it once.
some human will kill you before this disease will.
remember it's "over there" like the wars we wage.

I think you have to have some level of concern that an infectious disease hits the US. I certainly am. However, I'm not going to insist the borders be closed, or that everybody be tested (or quarantined) when entering the US, nor will I become a hermit in fear of it.
