Debra, he is not getting the rights of a criminal, he is getting the rights of a US Citizen. I trust that he will be rightly tried, found guilty, and come to the same fate as Timothy McVeigh...as it should be.
I only said no because he is 19 and would be in prison forever to reflect on the disgusting choices he made. And with that pretty hair he could probably find a nice big BOYFRIEND to take care of him. Other than that, I do believe in the death penalty.

Although I strongly support the death penalty, I just as strongly oppose the way it is currently administered. The offender gets a good meal, is strapped down, gets a quick high and expires. The innocents in Boston or any other victim or a murderer received no such graciousness. The death penalty is supposed to be the extreme punishment. Bring back hangings or the gallows. Make them suffer as those they made suffer.
Given the "softness" of the way it is done today, life in solitary would be more painful. At least for a sane person.
These extremists want martyrdom, they desire nothing more than to die and hopefully in a public way so that they can be elevated to demigod status. Lock them in a supermax facility in solitary confinement for life, with no hope of parole, and only to be let outside for an hour a day. That fate, where they drift into obscurity, would be far worse than the death penalty for them. We should not give them the satisfaction of becoming a hero.
I'd like to sit down and talk to his mother!+*!%*^. Then send her boy home in pieces just like the ones he left behind here. My boys have fought every war there has been in the last 30 yrears and she wants to blame our country for what happened to her boys. Yeh right! I say close the borders and bring my boy back to this country and protect us here.

You want him to suffer strap explosives to his legs and let him bleed out in a pig farm. Look at mommy, OMG she is whacked just like her sons. America took my sons, boo hoo!
