Today's Poll: Should college athletes be able to join labor unions?

Since the Northwestern ruling effects only players with full tuition scholarships, the most likely response will be no more full rides.

Smaller schools would be hurt the most. Larger schools could absorb the cost. They do profit handsomely off these athletes.

Also, I'd argue there's nothing compelling the NCAA to retain as members schools that organize and players start getting paid. So a team that forms a union demands and gets pay could be said to have lost its amateur status and is no longer eligible to compete in the NCAA.

I do disagree with College Athletes being able to join labor unions. They are recruited (Given Scholarships) or they try out to play their sport. Getting paid is also an insane thought. Professional Sports are already corrupted with money. Pro-Athletes hold out for better monetary offers. Hench why I like College Sports better.

I do agree there should be an organization that, should protect the well-being of these Scholar Athletes but, lets keep the corrupt unions out of the picture. Yes Universities and Colleges profit off these athletes so, why not make sure they use those profits to help out others gain an education. No I am not talking about Governor Cuomo's paying for free college for criminals. What a joke, give something else to those whom violate others' rights and our laws. Once again believing you can change their behaviors and make them better people and how to contribute to society. Or is it Cuomo's way of making smarter to avoid being capture or discovered? Meanwhile I am to struggle on a single income to send three children to college.

I think every working man or woman should belong to a union. In thirty years unions will be back in vogue because the business owners will want to survive too.
