Today's Poll: Should NFL players be punished if they engage in a bounty system?

When ex-inmates like Michael Vick and Plaxico Burress can literally walk out of prison and into multi-million dollar contracts, it speaks to the culture that the NFL has cultivated and relies on. The disciplinary committee feigns intolerance for flagrant hits, yet doles out fines that are tantamount to you or I pulling a $10 bill out of our wallet. When the average player today is assessed a $25,000 fine it amounts to then having to make the tough choice between the gold or silver plated rims on his Bentley.

Hard hitting is part of the game but when they have extra incentive to physically injure another player that is going too far. Football is a physical sport people get hurt that’s how it goes when you suit up you accept that, but someone getting paid to end another person's career is wrong.
