Today's Poll: Should Obama be able to send combat troops to Iraq without congressional OK?

I don't even know why this poll question is relevant. Obama has shown, in both HIS WORDS and HIS DEEDS that he can run over any powers that Congress has, and pretty much get away with whatever he wants.

I have no 'proof' of any wrongdoing, but I do have my opinion as to why. Personally, I figure he's done his homework, and has come up wirh STUFF that is being held over the heads of the majority of their heads - stuff that would be THEIR downfalls if it ever came to light.

And, in the end, I think it will all come down to what the 'Nightmare-in-Waiting' famously said - "What difference, at this point, does it make!"

Of course, I'm guessing I'm probably the only person in the U.S. that thinks that way.

Bush was slayed in the media and by the left for going into Iraq WITH congressional approval and backing. The way things are now, obama will be applauded for going in WITHOUT approval or backing by congress or the public.

The question is, "Should he?" No. If the question was, "Can he?" There's plenty of Executive Branch precedent to confirm such privilege. As far back as John Adams' reprisal against the French navy for harassing American vessels, presidents have independently exercised their role as Commander-in-chief. Congress has the exclusive power to declare war. They also have exclusive control of the purse strings which in itself limits the ability to mobilize military action. Truman sent troops to Korea without an official declaration of war from Congress. Reagan invaded Grenada without congressional approval. Although Congress approved actions to apprehend and bring to justice those responsible for the 9/11 attacks, it never officially approved Bush's subsequent invasion of Iraq.

Ed: You are not alone. The egoist child in the White House is too stupid to follow any guidance, let alone laws.

Bob: The only group of people on the planet stupider than this administration are the mainstream press.

C. M.: You are absolutely correct.

Hi, Kyle. Long time no converse.
Tell our common friend (David S.) that it's HOT-T-T down here in FL.
According to Accuweather, it's been between 90º - 95º actual temp the last 3 weeks, but they list the 'Feels-like' temp at 102º - 110º.
H-H-HOT!!! - And muggy!
