Today's Poll: Would you like to see Steve Hawley run for Congress?

I don't know about you Dave but the only time I take my shirt off anymore is when I shower. My figure just doesn't have the aesthetic appeal it once had, if it ever really did, anywhere outside of my mind. And these days I'm out of my mind most of the time. Would a Republican actually vote for Donald Trump for President? I find that so unbelievable that I don't believe it.

George,
Would anybody actually vote for Donald Trump for President?
Just could not believe I heard that bit of information this morning?

Let's put it this way George, my sending a shirtless photo to a woman I was hoping to get jiggy with, would definitely NOT seal the deal. As for The Donald, it's become a popularity contest anyway, and he can afford big-time image spin doctors, he could just pull it off. There would be a sign of the end of the USA.

Dave, I had to laugh when I read your comment..."as long as he keeps his shirt on".

You know it is only a matter of time...and I'm surprised it has not occured already...before his Men of Batavia Rotary Club Calendar pic as Mr. November gets plastered all over.

I can only image the insane rhetoric that would follow.

I thought the calendar was great and I'm bummed that I lost my autographed copy when my restaurant burned down.

I hope Steve runs. Perhaps he can get fellow Congressman to "bare" their souls...hmmm...The Men of Congress Calendar....Oh!... The hilarious possibilities...if only I knew how to photoshop....:)

John; that'd be great, especially on prime-time TV. Every week a half hour show, showing the department or agency and what they have done or not done. People could text "fire" or "keep" votes, but Trump has the final decision. I'm likin' this.

Howard? You are the journalist. We are just eager readers.

Or should I just call CNN direct?

I'd love to see a local get the opportunity to run. That said, I don't think it will happen for two major reasons:

1.) He'd have to raise a LOT of cash FAST. Corwin has enough in the spare change in her ashtray.

2.) He's not from Erie county.

Mingling with Rochester-area Assembly candidates this past election-season at Woodcliff, none of them recognized Steve Hawley's name. His name-recognition in Erie County wasn't much better. Based on my campaign experience, most WNYers are unfamiliar with the 139th District- never-mind who represents it, including a large segment of those who are constituents.

I will say, within the province of the 139th, most people recognize Steve Hawley by name- whether as assemblyman, insurance agent, real estate agent or 'buddy.' Honestly, 'buddy' was the most common association I detected.
