Jennie C. Mazzarella

  Jennie C. Mazzarella, 92, of Batavia passed away peacefully on Friday March 4, 2016 at the Genesee County Nursing Home.  She was born on May 11, 1923 in Oakfield to the late Carmen and Josephine (Alaimo) Giordano. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph F. Mazzarella who passed away in 1971. In addition to her husband, Jennie is predeceased by her brothers Samuel, Dr. Benjamin, Anthony and Joseph “Gigi” Giordano.

Jennie worked for over 30 years at J.M. Beauty Salon in Batavia. She also worked at the NYS Veterans Home at Batavia prior to her retirement. She will forever be known for being a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children; a son Joseph (Sheryl Jeffery) Mazzarella of Batavia and daughter Linda Fagan of Batavia; brother Dr. Paul (Marion) Giordano of Buffalo; grandchildren Samuel (Kim) Fagan and Paul Fagan, 3 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday March 9, 2016 from 9:30AM - 11:30AM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020.  A 12:00PM Noon Mass of Christian Burial will follow calling hours on Wednesday the 9^th at Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph’s) 303 E. Main St. Batavia. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Batavia.
