Dominic S. "Zip" Irrera

Age 92 of Batavia died Saturday April 3, 2010 at the Genesee County Nursing Home. He was born March 14, 1918 in Batavia son of the late Joseph & Rosario (Gringer) Irrera, also preceded in death by his siblings Nunzio, Anthony, Bill and John Irerra, Antoinette Oddo, Angie Fanara, Mary Partridge and Anna Vinuto. A WWII Army Veteran Mr. Irrera worked many years at Dohler-Jarvis. He was a member of Ascension Parish (former St. Anthony's) where he served as an usher. A member of the former St. Nick's Club, American Legion and Fr. Kirby Council Knights of Columbus. 

Surviving are his loving daughters Sharon (Bev) Cowell and Marie (Leo) Reger both of Conway, SC; a brother Cosmo (Pat) Irrera of Batavia and sister Rose White of Ohio; 6 grandchildren, 16 1/2 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday April 6 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 WEST MAIN STREET ROAD BATAVIA, NEW YORK 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:00 AM Wednesday April 7 followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial Ascension Parish (St. Anthony's Site). Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice and entombment will be in the Father T. Bernard Kelly Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
