JOAN Y. MOBLEY

JOAN Y. MOBLEY Age 74, of Batavia, died Friday afternoon June 17, 2014 at her home while under the care of her loving family and Hospice. She was born July 8, 1941 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph & Christnel (McKinnis) Alston, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Tartt and brother, Joseph Alston.

Mrs. Mobley worked at the Eastman Kodak Co. and raised 7 children along with being a “mom” to all the neighborhood children. She was an absolutely wonderful mother, loved to shop and go antiquing along with being a great cook.

Surviving is her beloved husband of 57 years, Tommie L. Mobley, Sr. of Batavia; loving children, Bobbie L. Mobley of Batavia, Tommie L. Mobley, Jr. of Rochester, Carmen E. Vega of LeRoy, Michael T. (Renee) Mobley of Maryland, Marcus L. (Fawn) Mobley of  Batavia, Barbara J. Filbert of Batavia and Jeanine M. Mobley of Batavia; sisters, Emma Alston and Ann Williams both of Buffalo; sister-in-law, Katie Alston of Arcade along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Mobley family will be present from 4-8PM on Wednesday June 22, 2016 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020, where a Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held 11:00AM Thursday June 23. She will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery and memorials in her memory are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
