Rose M. Cvitanovich, 89, of Akron, died Monday (May 23, 2011) at Sacred Heart Home in Clarence.

She was born in Akron on January 29, 1922, a daughter of the late Matthew and Barbara Breletic Cvitanovich.

Rose was a homemaker all of her life and was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Barbara (Frank) Diorio of Akron and Doris Seymour of Saranac, Lake, NY. A niece, Mary Kobus of Marilla, NY  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  She was the sister of the late: John, Marco, Frank and Matthew Cvitanovich and Mary Sowinski.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 2 - 5 PM at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC. 32 JOHN ST., AKRON, where prayers will be Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church.

Burial will be in St. Teresa of Avila Cemetery.

Doris L. Schildwaster, 82, of Batavia , died Wednesday (May 11, 2011) at United Memorial Medical Center.

She was born in Batavia on January 19, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles and Blance Warner Sauter.

Her husband, Richard L. Schildwaster died in 1980

Mrs. Schildwaster was a legal secretary for the late James Murray, Esq. at Murray and Williams Law Firm of Batavia.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, making crafts and formerly taught line dancing at Washington Towers.

Surviving are her children: Scott and Judith Schildwaster of Batavia and Melissa L. and Robert J. Smith of Batavia. Four grandchildren: Richard (Kimberly) Schildwaster, Amy Smith, Megan Smith and Kelsey Smith.  Two great grandsons; Ryan and Nathan Schildwaster.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 -4 PM at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW  FUNERAL HOME, LLC , 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA  were services will follow.

Memorials my be made to Genesee Cancer Assistance Inc., 16 Bank St., Batavia, NY 14020.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Diane J. Bartz, 70, of Batavia died Sunday (Mothers Day) at United Memorial Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Batavia on July 10, 1940 a daughter of Helen Cichocki Tomaselli of Batavia and the late George A. Tomaselli Sr.

Mrs. Bartz was a member of Ascension Parish and the Altar and Rosary Society, Church Choir, Bible Study, CCD Teachers, Bereavement Committee, Lenten Soup Kitchen, volunteer at Genesee County Nursing Home and the Art Therapy Program.   She was a teacher at Batavia Middle School, Byron Bergen Central, St. Anthony's School and Batavia and Mt. Morris B.O.C.E.S.  She enjoyed still painting, knitting, crocheting, reading her bible and prayer books.

Surviving besides her mother is her husband of over 48 years, Irvin M. Bartz whom she married on June 30, 1962.  Four sons: Michael Bartz (John Couri) of Fall River, MA, Eric (Sherrilyn) Bartz of Batavia, Christian (Celina) Bartz of Batavia and Kelly (Valerie Shotzberger) Bartz of Morrisville, NC.  Five grand daughters: Madeleine, Noelle, Taylor, Leda and Nina Bartz. Three brothers: George A. (Late JoAnn) Tomaselli Jr. (Maxine Parada) of Batavia, Sam (Nancy) Tomaselli of Batavia and Jim Tomaselli(Connie Chatley)of East Pembroke. A sister, Georginne (Jack) Majerus of Batavia. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She is the mother of the late Risa Helene Bartz.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA where prayers will be Thursday at 8:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart Church). Burial will follow in Grand View Cemetery.

The Rosary Society will recite the Rosary on Wednesday at 5:45 PM at the funeral home.

Lawrence Emil Regis, 81, of Perry, died Sunday, May 8, 2011. He was born in Rimersburg, PA, on Nov. 26, 1929, the son of Italian immigrants the late Angelo Regis and Catherine Maffeo Regis.  Larry graduated from Union High School in Rimersburg in 1947 and Duquesne University via ROTC with a Bachelor in Business Administration in 1951.  After serving in the Air Force, he moved to Perry to work as secretary-treasurer at Archway Cookies.  In 1956, he married Dorothy Housel; they raised four children.  He founded Cookies and Snacks with his best friend, Frank Niccolazo, and later worked as a sales representative for MEDENT of Auburn. Proud of his Italian Catholic heritage, Larry will be remembered as a devoted father and a gentle, patient, honest man.  He was president of Kiwanis Club in the 1960’s and was active in St. Joseph’s Church, including singing as a founding member in the men’s choir.  Larry was a strong supporter of Dorothy’s string music education program.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed music and traveling.  His siblings preceded him in death:  Joseph Regis, Mary Roppolo, Madeline Steltzer and Robert Regis. 
 

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Housel Regis; four children:  Catharine (George)     Regis-Green of Jamestown, NY; Gregory (Kathleen) Regis of Buffalo, NY; Suzanne  Regis of Wayne, PA; Edward (Carol) Regis of Patterson Heights, PA; nine  grandchildren:  Joshua, Nicole & Michael Regis of Buffalo; Patrick, William, Andrew,  Molly, Madeline & Maureen Regis of Patterson Heights; one great-granddaughter:  Charlotte Rose Regis of Buffalo; and six nieces and nephews.

Rachael J. Orzel, 82 of Mt. Morris, formerly of Perry and Buffalo. Died May 8, 2011 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born in Rome, New York on February 1, 1929. She is daughter of the late William (Edna Barnes) Irvine and  was raised by the late John and Laura Schoeflin. Mrs. Orzel worked for many years at Martin Dry Cleaner and Laundry of Warsaw, she then moved to Buffalo and worked at the Pratt and Lambert Paint Factory until her retirement. She loved to crochet and embroider, making several afgans & quilts. Mrs. Orzel was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, loved dogs, a “good” cup of coffee and visiting with her niece. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Orzel (1998), brother Robert Irvine, Sr., sister Margaret (Frank) Pitcock, sister-in-law Florence Irvine, and great nephew Jason Weber.


 She is survived by her niece Carol (Carl) Weber of Perry, Nephew Robert Irvine, Jr. of Albion; brother-in-law Robert Orzel of Buffalo; great nephews Aaron (Pam) Weber of Avon; John (Elaine) Jones of Ortonville, MI; great niece Kimberley (Curtis) Schroth of LeRoy; along with 8 great-great nieces and nephews.

Gerald M. Olin, Jr. 76 of Perry, NY. Died May 3, 2011 in Bergen, NY due to a trucking accident. Born March 5, 1935 in Perry Center to the late Gerald M. (Lenora E. Mason) Olin, Sr.. Gerald drove truck for Kuszulyk of Batavia. Mr. Olin was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Perry Center. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish. He would often describe himself as a “Jack of all trades and master of none”. Mr. Olin was a member of the Warsaw Moose Club and enjoyed car races. He loved his family, loved to work and planned never to retire. He is preceded in death by a son Dale Olin.
  
He survived by his wife Patricia M. (Mattoon) Olin of Perry; sons Douglas (Ardell) Olin of Batavia; Daniel (Carrie) Olin of Perry; David (Katherine) Olin of Henrietta; Duane (Sheila) Olin of Perry; step-children Michelle (Timothy) Post of Perry; Kit (Greg) Potwora of Batavia; James VanScoter of Warsaw; brother Richard (Patricia) Olin of Crossville, TN; sisters Loretta (Merritt) Patrick of Leicester; Judy (Garrith) Seng of Topeka, KS; brother-in-law Ron (Marcia) Mattoon of Perry; 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren along with 8 nieces and 5 nephews also survive.

Dean W. Barrows, 89 of Mt. Morris, formerly of Perry. Died May 3, 2011 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris. Born in Perry, New York on January 13, 1922 to the late Arthur (Ruby Watson) Barrows. Mr. Barrows was involved in farming all of his life. He owned Barrows Trucking along with his own farm on the Geneseo Flats. He was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Perry. Mr. Barrows is preceded in death by his wife Rita Barrows (2009) and daughter Diane Barrows (1949).

He is survived by his son Randall Barrows of Perry; two grandchildren Mary Foley of Silver Springs; James Barrows of Perry; brother Robert Barrows of Mt. Morris; sisters Laura (Norm) McIntyre of Perry; Freda Reinheimer of Portland, OR; Joan Bly of North Chili; 6 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Batavia- Miss Margaret E. Wagner, 86, of Batavia, secretary for MetLife Insurance in Batavia for 26 years, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at United Memorial Medical Center.

Miss Wagner was born April 5, 1925 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late James and Bertha Rogers Wagner.

She was a member of the Batavia First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and also kept the records for the Sunday school classes.  She also worked and volunteered at the Salvation Army and for the Beckwith Insurance Company in Pembroke. She loved working in her yard, enjoyed outdoor activities and, no matter the situation; she always had a smile on her face.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Lois (Joseph) Gerace of Batavia, Rita Greco of Port Orchard, Washington, William (Elizabeth) Wagner of Alexander and Jane Sheppleman of Columbus, Ohio; great-nieces and great-nephews, Robert Gerace, John (fiancée Rhonda Saulsbury) Gerace and Karen (Scott) Rowland, all of Batavia, Nicolette (James) Linneman of Mississippi, Cindy Pfalzer of Michigan, Debbie (Barry) Newman and Hank Pfalzer, both of Texas, Cristin (Larry) Taylor of Washington, Richard (Jennifer) Wagner and Eric (Krista) Wagner, both of Alexander, Heidi (Eddie) Malowski of New Jersey and Jennifer (Troy) McLeland of Colorado and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She is the sister of the late Forrest Wagner.

Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia.  Services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Batavia First United Methodist Church, 8221 Lewiston Road, Batavia.  Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery, Alexander.

Age 74, of Batavia, passed away peacefully Monday May 2, 2011 at Crossroads House surrounded by his devoted family. He was born July 18, 1936 in Brooklyn , NY to the late Eugene & Charlotte (McNay) Brasington, he was also preceded in death by a brother Kenneth.

     He is a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Batavia. He worked for many years as a Special Education Teacher at BOCES until his retirment in 1992. He worked part-time at the former Wick's Lumber and Valu Home Center. He enjoyed woodcarving, gardening, camping and traveling. He and and his wife enjoyed Florida in the winter months until his health prevented it. A very loving grandfather and great-grandfather he will be remembered as a wonderful father and husband.

     He is survived by his beloved wife Phyllis (Scoville) Brasington with whom he celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on April 25, 2010; loving daughters Charlotte (Greg) Crawford, Rhonda Brasington all of Batavia, Michelle (Bill) Smith of Corfu; brothers William (Ona) of Troy, PA; Douglas (Linda) of Maryland and Timothy Brasington of Cincinnati, OH; sadly missed by his 8 grandchildren Derrick (Emily) Crawford, Rick Blatt, Deanna (Rick Rumble Jr. ) Crawford, Ryan (Shannon McQueen) Blatt, Josh Farnsworth, Katelyn Gutowski & Samantha Smith; 6 great-grandchildren Liam & Norah Crawford, Kristian & Kaylee Tundo, Ricky & Logan Blatt along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Family and friends may attend visitation from 9-11 AM Wednesday May 4, 2011 at the Grace Baptist Church 238 Vine Street Batavia, New York 14020 where Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM, Celebrated by Pastor Donald Shirk. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery and in lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family to distribute to Jim's favorite charities.

Jacklyn M. “Jackie Peanut” Rodgers, 27 of Caledonia, New York. Died April 26, 2011 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Dansville, New York on August 18, 1983 to Timothy Rodgers and Joyce (Barnhardt) Rodgers of Piffard. Jacklyn was a 2001 graduate of York Central School. She enjoyed scrapbooking, playing games, traveling, spending time with her niece and 2 nephews, her dog and cats, and just enjoyed “life”. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Frank (Margaret) Rodgers and grandfather Carl Barnhardt.

She is survived by her parents Timothy and Joyce Barnhardt Rodgers of Piffard, a sister: Stacy Rodgers of York, grandparents: Neal (Barbara) Green of Perry, Phyllis Barnhardt of Mt. Morris, Andrew “Papa” (Annie) Nobles of Victor, a niece: Ariel Stroud, 2 nephews: Zane and Logan Kingston, her best friend Tarryn Macauley of Charleston, SC, along with many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
