Oakfield - Rose Anna Desjardins, 93, of Oakfield, passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at Genesee County Nursing Home, in Batavia.

Mrs. Desjardins was born October 2, 1917 in Fort Coulonge, Quebec, the daughter of the late John and Rosalee (Bertrand) St. Jean.

She emigrated to the United States from Quebec, Canada on July 23, 1955. She was a housewife in Oakfield where she raised her children. She enjoyed spending her summer months at Fort Coulonge, Quebec, Canada at her summer home. Rose Anna will rest there now with her beloved husband and family. Au revoir, Ma Ma

Her husband, Oswald F. Desjardins, passed away in 1999.

Survivors include 6 children, Mona (Gary) Sulimowicz, Frank (Darlene) Desjardins and Richard (Pam) Desjardins all of Oakfield, John Desjardins and Annette Desjardins, both of Batavia and Nancy (Joseph) Richthammer of Basom; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She had 3 sisters and 5 brothers - 4 are still living. All of her siblings remained in Canada throughout their lifetimes - Rose Anna was the only one to leave.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Aug 23 at 7 pm at Alabama Full Gospel Fellowship, 5329 S. Gravel Rd, Medina, NY - Rt 63 just north of Alabama Center. Arrangements were completed by Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, Oakfield. Memorials may be made to the family. Burial will be in Fort Coulonge, Quebec. Cora F. Wiederhold  60 of Batavia, died  August 18, 2011  in United Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  She was born  April 17, 1951 in Glens Falls, NY to the late Frank  and Helen (Johnson) Bruno. Mrs. Wiederhold was a homemaker, she enjoyed bingo and going to parks, was an avid Trace Adkins fan, and she was devoted to her family especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband’s Bernard LaCarte and Walter J. Wiederhold, a daughter Amber Lynn and a sister Clara.
                                                                                                                        

She is survived by her sons Jeremy (Tanya) LaCarte of Florida, Matthew (Stephanie) LaCarte of Batavia, daughters Brandi (Michael) LaCarte Greene and Autumn (Fiancé Reinaldo Fernandez) Harrington all of Batavia. 8 grandchildren also survive.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Service will take place Tuesday August 23, 2011 at 6:00 PM at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main St., Batavia, New York.

Doris E. Miller, 86 of Batavia, died August 17, 2011 at Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. She was born June 18, 1925 in East Pembroke, NY to the late LaVerne (Georgeanna Nichols) Parker. Mrs. Miller was retired from the New York State School for the Blind where she worked for 15 years. She was a former member of the East Pembroke Federated Church, the Home Bureau, and the former Moose Club. She was an avid New York Mets, Atlanta Braves and Muckdogs fan. Mrs. Miller was very devoted to her family. She is preceded in death by her husband’s George A. Lear in 1984, Lester Miller in 1994, brothers Merton “Danny” Parker, Gordon Parker and sister Eleanor Warner.

She is survived by her sons LaVerne A. (Sue) Lear of Holley; Gary Lear of Lockport;  daughters Renee (Glenn) Miller of Wyoming, NY;  Victoria Krueger of Newfane; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, awaiting the birth of her 10th great grandchild along with many  nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Sunday Aug. 21st from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. 11:00 AM funeral services will be held on Monday Aug 22nd at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.

Barbara G. Mirrione, 65 of Batavia died August 17, 2011 at her home. She was born March 10, 1946 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late George (Melvadine Grube) McClemont. Mrs. Mirrione enjoyed NASCAR, arts and crafts. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Mirrione; brother Richard McClemont.

She is survived by her sons Paul Mirrione Jr. of Batavia; George F. (Michelle) Mirrione of Pavilion; 3 grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday August 20, 2011 from 3 to 7 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. Funeral Services will be private. Interment will take place at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Corfu.

Mary Grace Zambon, 88 of Batavia, died August 15, 2011 at her home in Batavia. She was born July 2, 1923 in Batavia, to the late Guiseppe (Francesca Macchia) Spiotta. Mrs. Zambon worked for years at GTE Sylvania and the Golden Shield. She was a member of Ascension Parish-St. Anthony’s church. She was a very loving grandmother that enjoyed gardening. She is preceded in death by her husband Hamil J. Zambon in 2010 and daughter-in-law Maureen Zambon.                                                         

She is survived by her son Dr. Joseph Zambon of Williamsville, daughter Gloria (Robert) McCracken of Crossville TN, 7 grandchildren Sarah G. Zambon, Dr. Margaret M. (Brian Meyer) Zambon, Katharine F. (Eli Dickinson) Zambon, Brendan J. Zambon, Michael G. (Jessica) McCracken, Joshua J. McCracken and Celeste L. McCracken. 2 Great grandchildren Charleston and Matthew survive along with several nieces and nephews.

Irene Rose Donohue, 91, of Batavia died Saturday (August 13, 2011) at her residence surounded by her children. 

She was born in Batavia on July 25, 1920, a daughter of the late Bruno and Rose Wisniewski Dombrowski.

Her late husband, Richard Donohue died on June 17, 1975.

Mrs. Donohue was an insurance broker and operated the James Donohue Insurance Agency in Batavia. 

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  In her younger years she bowled with the Polish Falconettes League.  She was a member of Resurection Parish (St. Joseph Church),St. Joseph and Sacred Heart Church Altar and Rosary Society, Polish Falconesste and its Legion of Honor and the Genesee Region Insurance Professionals.  Irene enjoyed spending good times with her dogs Dewey and Lucy.

Surviving are two sons, James W. (Dora) Donohue of Farmington, NY, Richard Donohue Jr. of Batavia. Two daughters, Rosemary (Joseph) Donohue of Castile, NY and Diane Donohue of Batavia. Five grandchildren, Jeremy Rich, Jon Donohue, Genessa Donohue, Jessica Jaszko and Joseph Jaszko.  Three great grandchildren, Quintin Rich, Roy Rich and Alaya Scott. 

She was the sister of the late Joseph Domobrowski and Tessie Dombrowski.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 3 - 7 PM at the J. Leonard McAndrew Funeral Home, LLC., 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia.  Prayers will be recited on Wednesday at 11:15 AM at the J. Leonard McAndrew Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon at Resurection Parish (St. Joseph Church).

The Rosary Society will recited the Rosary at the funeral home on
Tuesday at (to be announced).

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Gerald “Jerry” Worth, 80 of Batavia, died August 13, 2011 at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. He was born August 17, 1930 in Lockport, NY to the late Linus (Harriett Johnson) Worth. Mr. Worth was retired from Ken Barrett Chevrolet Cadillac. He had previously worked as a car salesman for 25 years and prior to that he worked 27 years for Coca Cola. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph’s), past member of the Batavia Lions Club where he served as President; he was a member of the Glenn S. Loomis Post #332 and Veness Strollo Post #1602. He enjoyed traveling, and working in his yard. He is preceded in death by his sister Virginia Worth and brother Jack Worth.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Margaret “Maggie” (Peca) Worth two daughters Trish (Peter) Wollke of Rochester, Mimi (Tom Atkinson) Worth of Marion, NY, one granddaughter Lauren Wollke and grand dog Lucky. One brother Paul Worth of Rochester, survive along with many other relatives, friends, nieces and nephews.

Angeline Muchard, 86 of Batavia, died August 12, 2011 at Unity Hospital in Rochester. She was born December 4, 1924 in Batavia, NY to the late Louis (Mary Ambrosia) Piacente. Mrs. Muchard was retired as a New York State Correctional Officer where she worked at the Wyoming County Correctional Facility. She was a former member of St. Vincent’s Church in Attica and the devoted matriarch of her family. She is preceded in death by her husband Vincent A. Muchard,   a son Donald Muchard, brothers Ralph, Sam, Joseph and Thomas Piacente and her sister Helen Bartz.  

She is survived by her sons Ronald V. Muchard of Mt. Morris, Michael F. (Yvonne) Muchard of Newbury, NH, daughters Rosemary B. (Thomas) Sisson of Pavilion, Deborah L. (James Brick) Muchard of Batavia. A brother Frank (Gloria) Piacente of Depew, 10 Grandchildren David (Lisa) Muchard, Scott (fiancé Julia Schwartz) Muchard, Brian (Cheryl) Sisson, Christine (Derek Munn) Muchard,  Steve Muchard, Tara (Lukasz) Rogowski, Kristy (Carlos) Valdivia, Melissa (Neil) Burley, Kari Brick and Vincent “VJ” Brick. 7 Great grandchildren Samantha and Emily Muchard, Drew Sisson, Lea Rogowski, Lucy and Charly Sisson and Owen Burley survive along with many nieces and nephews.

Corfu - Joseph M. Murray,  "Joe", 84, of Corfu, passed away Friday (August 12, 2011) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

Joe was born June 19, 1927, in Frankfort, NY, a son of the late Merton and Mary Gibbons Murray. He was a sales representative for the Thomas J. Lipton Company. In his younger years, Joe was very dedicated in serving his community. His past accomplishments include Pembroke Babe Ruth League Baseball Manager, First Commissioner of Pembroke Little League Football and was instrumental in the formation of the Oatka Junior Football League, Committeeman of Boy Scout Troop 67 in Corfu and Chairman of Joint Youth Recreation Commission. Joe proudly served two terms as a former Mayor of Corfu and then went on to serve as Town of Pembroke Supervisor.  On June 27, 1953, he was united in marriage to Winona Sliker Murray.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Winona Murray of Corfu; two sons, Michael (Karen) Murray of Doylestown, PA and Timothy (Wendy) Murray of Bennington; four grandchildren, Jackson, Breanna, Keith and Kyle; one sister Margaret Yardley of Oneida.

Family and friends may call Monday 6-8 PM at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc. 4-6 Main Street, Corfu. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at the Indian Falls United Methodist Church 7908 Allegheny Road, Corfu, NY. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Corfu. Ronald F. Ellingham Sr., 75 of Stafford, died August 12, 2011 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born October 31, 1935 in Batavia, NY to the late Robert (Carmelita Blatt) Ellingham. Mr. Ellingham worked for many years as the Postmaster in Oakfield. He was a former member of Resurrection Parish-St. Joseph’s Church, Oakfield Lions Club, and he was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Ron loved the outdoors, landscaping and traveling. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by a brother Jerry Ellingham.

He is survived by his wife Josephine M. (Campesi) Ellingham of Stafford; son Ronald F. (Lara) Ellingham Jr. of Fairport; daughter Terri L. Snyder of LeRoy; sister Mary Skeet of Batavia; brothers Robert (Sandra) of Elba; James of FL; Timothy and David Ellingham both of Rochester; 6 grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews also survive.

There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral Services will be private. Entombment will take place at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
