Batavia - Mr. Gordie E. Hopkins, 56, of Batavia, died suddenly on the land that he loved in Holley on Saturday, July 3, 2010.

Mr. Hopkins was born May 19, 1954 in Buffalo, the son of the late Everett S. “Red” and Mary "Pat" (Stevens) Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and collecting rocks. A giving man, he loved to help people and was a skilled craftsman and carpenter.

Survivors include wife, Linne (Brooks) Hopkins of Batavia; two daughters, Kerry (fiancé Mike Karbowski) Hopkins of Lewiston and Lindsey Hopkins of Oakfield; a son, Ian Hopkins of Batavia; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Talia; two sisters, Ruth (Ronald) Zentz of Basom and Patricia (Jerry Power) Hopkins of Franklinville and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by a son, Gordon Everett Hopkins.  

Calling hours are Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 at the Oakfield United Methodist Church, 2 South Main Street, Oakfield. Batavia - Mrs. Judith J. Parker, 65, of Batavia, purchasing agent for the former St. Jerome Hospital in Batavia, died on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at United Memorial Medical Center.

Mrs. Parker was born September 19, 1944 in Norfolk, Virginia, a daughter of the late William Harold and Dorothy Ernestine Kuhn Jahn.

Mrs. Parker graduated from the McCaulley School of Nursing and began her career at the hospital as nurse and later moved onto the position of purchasing agent. A member of the First Presbyterian Church in Batavia, she enjoyed playing the piano and knitting. She was a member of the singing group Sweet Adeline's in Orchard Park.

Her children were her whole world and she absolutely loved and adored her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Byron "Rob" Parker; three daughters, Dawn (Chris) Chugg of Batavia, Jamie (Bob) King of Livonia and Melody (Albert) Ghiloni of Cincinnati, Ohio; two step-daughters, Lisa (Mike) Dranichek and Christine (James) Dowell, both of LeRoy; a step-son,  Jason (Heidi) Parker of Batavia; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie and Felicia Mortimer, Hailey and Phillip King, Erick Chugg, Gabriella and Mia Ghiloni, Alex, Parker and Eleah Dowell, Grace and Sydney Parker; two sisters, Karen (Robert) Koscianski and Cindy (Roger) Barnes, both of Buffalo; a step-sister,  Jane (Michael) Jeffords of Byron; a sister-in-law, Patricia Fraher of Maryland; a brother-in-law, Raymond Wilson of Buffalo; her step-mother, Betty Jahn of Brockport and several nieces and nephews.

She is the sister of the late Linda Wilson.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 East Main Street, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Memorial Medical Center Foundation, 123 North Street, Batavia. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.

Muriel A. “Pat” Heubusch, age 71, of West Buffalo Street, Warsaw, died June 26, 2010 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

She was born June 29, 1938 in Ontario, NY, daughter of the late Albert and Arlene Poshva. For many years, she owned and operated Pat’s Upholstery Shop in Silver Springs.

Surviving are her husband, Richard Heubusch, whom she married in 1956; her sons, Jeffrey Heubusch, of Batavia, John (Ellie) Heubusch of Silver Springs; her daughters, Neva (Rex) Forkey, of Bethany, Suzanne (Terry) Flint, of Warsaw; her brother, Albert (Peggy) Poshva, of Holland, NY; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild. She was the grandmother of the late John Hummel.

Oakfield - Mrs. R. Onolee Jackson, 90, a lifetime resident of the Oakfield area, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at her home.

Mrs. Jackson was born April 13, 1920 in Alabama, New York, a daughter of the late Leo and Mildred Slusser Newton.

Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Jackson was an avid golfer and participated in the league at Terry Hills for many years and enjoyed watching sports on television.

Survivors include one daughter, Sherrie (Rod) Rodriguez of Oakfield; a grandson, Scott M. Hartman of Oakfield; a granddaughter, Jodi (Scott) Nichols of Wyoming, New York; four great-grandchildren, Sarah and Chelsea Hartman and Brett and McKenzie Nichols; a sister-in-law, Virginia Newton of Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

She was the wife of the late Stanley Jackson and sister of the late Gordon Newton, Doris Warner and Margaret Merkel.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor William Smith officiating. Memorials may be made to Oakfield Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Burial will be in Cary Cemetery, Oakfield. Condolences may be made at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com.
