Stephen C. Dermody

Stephen C. Dermody, 77, of Bergen, NY passed away on Thursday August 25, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Stephen was born on January 16, 1939 in Ogden, NY to the late Joseph and Josephine (Steigerwald) Dermody. He is predeceased by his son Michael Dermody, a brother, John Dermody and sister, Elin Covalciuc.

Stephen was a United States Air Force Veteran. He retired from Kodak where he worked in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning after 25 years then went to work for Terry Hills Golf Course where he worked for another 20 years. He loved golfing, gardening, and hunting and was very active in the Bergen Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his loving wife Joan (Cave) Dermody of Bergen; sons Gregory Dermody of Le Roy and Timothy (Reba) Dermody of Sierra Vista, AZ; daughter Wendy (Chad) Caccamise of Batavia; sisters Judith (Robert) Zangas of MO, Naomi Dermody Hanlon of Glens Falls and Christine (Ray) Sexton of Greece, NY; sister-in-law Jeanne Dermody of Elba; 8 grandchildren, Katelyn Dermody and Shannon Dermody, Justin (April) Johansen, Sara (Michael) Borlaug Jennifer (Sean) Barrett, Jared Dermody, Stephen (Katherine) Christner, Emily Caccamise; 6 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends are invited to call on Tuesday August 30, 2016 from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020.  An 11:00AM Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday the 31^st at the Bergen Evangelical Presbyterian Church 38 S Lake Ave, Bergen, NY 14416 with full Military Honors.
