John W. Purcell

LeRoy ~ John W. Purcell, age 66, of South Street Road, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016.

    

 He was born November 8, 1949 in Batavia, a son of the late John Q. and Barbara Sandford Purcell.

     John attended and graduated from Pavilion Central School and Black Hills State University in South Dakota.  He worked for 30 years for the USDA / Farm Service Agency in the Tompkins County Office in Ithaca and the Genesee County Office in Batavia.

     He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Elmore Purcell; stepdaughter, Amy Puccio (Joseph) Barry of DE; grandchildren, Madeline and Riley; sister, Sandra Purcell (Ted) Howard of Pavilion; nephews, Tad (Katie) Howard of CO and Adam (Rose) Howard of Elba; brothers-in-law, Patrick (Cleo) Elmore of E. Bethany and Robert (Angela) Elmore of FL and sister-in-law, JoAnn (James) Hanna of FL, along with many dear friends.

     Family and friends may call on Friday, September 30, from 3 ~ 7 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19).  Services will be private.
