Mrs. Ann D. DiSalvo

Batavia/Oakfield - Mrs. Ann D. DiSalvo, 90, of Batavia, a food services worker at Oakfield - Alabama School, until her retirement, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010at Genesee County Nursing Home, in Batavia.

Mrs. DiSalvo was born March 26, 1920 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Joseph and Concetta (Pastore) Morette.

She was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecelia's Worship Site, since 1941, served on the Altar and Rosary Society and enjoyed crochet.

Her husband, Joseph "Sheik" DiSalvo, died January 14, 2001.

Survivors include 2 sons, David (Nancy) DiSalvo of Batavia and Raymond DiSalvo of MO; a daughter, Joanne DiSalvo of Batavia; a sister, Kitty Tessitore of Batavia; 2 sisters-in-law, Cecilia Morette of Clarence and Kim Morette of Utica; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the grandmother of the late Richard DiSalvo and sister of the late Michael Morette, Vincent Morette, Rosemarie Kenyon and Josephine Patterson.  

Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia's Site, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, Upstate NY Chapter, 1650 South Ave., Suite 100, Rochester, NY 14620. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Oakfield.
