Mrs. R. Onolee Jackson

Oakfield - Mrs. R. Onolee Jackson, 90, a lifetime resident of the Oakfield area, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at her home.

Mrs. Jackson was born April 13, 1920 in Alabama, New York, a daughter of the late Leo and Mildred Slusser Newton.

Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Jackson was an avid golfer and participated in the league at Terry Hills for many years and enjoyed watching sports on television.

Survivors include one daughter, Sherrie (Rod) Rodriguez of Oakfield; a grandson, Scott M. Hartman of Oakfield; a granddaughter, Jodi (Scott) Nichols of Wyoming, New York; four great-grandchildren, Sarah and Chelsea Hartman and Brett and McKenzie Nichols; a sister-in-law, Virginia Newton of Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

She was the wife of the late Stanley Jackson and sister of the late Gordon Newton, Doris Warner and Margaret Merkel.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor William Smith officiating. Memorials may be made to Oakfield Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Burial will be in Cary Cemetery, Oakfield. Condolences may be made at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com.
