Steven Lyle Mowers

Oakfield - Steven Lyle Mowers, 44, of Oakfield, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.

Mr. Mowers was born February 28, 1972 in Batavia, a son of Steven G. Mowers of Alexandria, PA and Karen (Dennis) Matters McComb of Oakfield.

He served in Korea with the US Army from 1990 to 1992.  He was a graduate of Oakfield Alabama High School, was an avid outdoorsman and had worked as a hunting guide out west.

Survivors include his father, Steven G. (Diane) Mower of PA; his mother, Karen (Dennis) Matters McComb of Oakfield; 2 stepchildren,  Alex Norman of Fort Drum and Daniel Norman of Corfu; 4 siblings, Nathan Mowers of Oakfield, Rachel McComb of MA, Matthew (Aunchana) McComb of Oakfield and Jessica (Dylan) Brew of Batavia and a niece, Elinora Weber of MA.

Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Ave. in Oakfield.  It is our belief that Steven would have wished for those attending the visitation to wear hoodies, camos or work cloths.  Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 370 7th Avenue, Suite 1802, New York, NY 10001.  Please leave a condolence, share a story or light a candle at www.burdettandsanford.com.
