Peter I. Rossi

LeRoy - Peter I. Rossi, 89, of LeRoy, passed away on Wednesday (October 26, 2016) at the New York State Veteran's Home in Batavia.

Peter was born December 21, 1926 in Batavia, the son of the late Frank A. and Caroline (Sala) Rossi.

A veteran, Peter served with the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War.  He is a member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Northwoods Sportsmen Club and the VFW.  Peter enjoyed being a part of the McDonald's coffee club that would regularly get together.  He was a section foreman at Lehigh Valley Railroad in Batavia.  

Survivors include two sons, Frank A. (Barbara) Rossi of Kansas City, MO and Peter M. (Beverly) Rossi of Arizona; a grandson, Frank Rossi of Webster; a granddaughter, Alexandria Rossi of Arizona; a great-granddaughter, Ashlee Rossi of Gates and several nieces and nephews.

Peter is the husband of the late Clara S. Rossi and brother of the late Julia Spink and Laura Ballard.

Calling hours are Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia.  Peter’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Site, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy.  He will be laid to rest with full Military Honors in St. Francis Cemetery, LeRoy.  Memorials may be made to New York State Veteran's Home, Attention: Activities Fund, 220 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, NY 14020.
