Katherine I. Hawkins

Batavia - Katherine I. Hawkins, 97, formerly of Batavia, a retiree from P.W. Minor Shoe Factory in Batavia, died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility, in LeRoy.

Mrs. Hawkins was born July 11, 1919 in Oakfield, a daughter of the late Henry and Emma Garrod.

She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church for over 75 years.

Her husband, Milton E. Hawkins, died on January 4, 2011.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Betty (John) O'Brien of Batavia and Linda (Timothy) Munger of Helena, AL; 6 grandchildren, Scott, Kim, and Kevin Gabriel, Krystin Seales, Brittany Golden and Gregory (Karen) O'Brien; 5 great-grandchildren, Steve, Alexander and Zachery O'Brien and Morgan and Blair Seales; several nieces and nephews. 

She was the mother of the late David Hawkins and sister of 4 late brothers and 1 late sister.  

Friends may call on Tuesday November 15, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co, Inc., 403 E. Main St., Batavia.  Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at St. James Episcopal Church, 405 E. Main St. Batavia.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ducks Unlimited, Inc.  One Water Fowl Way, Memphis, TN 38120.  Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Elba.
