Richard Bruce Ireland, 70 of Alexander, NY died July 27, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.

Born October 25, 1939 in Batavia, NY son of the late Bruce (Arlene Potter) Ireland. 

Mr. Ireland was a self employed well known electrical contractor for 42 years; prior to that he worked for 10 years at Falcone Electric in Batavia.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish (Our Lady of Good Counsel Church) in Darien; he enjoyed sports with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed golf, was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed helping people whenever he could.

Dick was very involved for many years with the Tri Town Athletics of which he was a founder and a past Commissioner of Baseball. 

Preceded in death by his brother Robert Ireland. Survived by his beloved wife  of 49 years Anne (Kaczmarek) Ireland of Alexander, five sons Kenneth (Lisa) Ireland of Brockport, Thomas (Debbie) Ireland of Tonawanda, Dennis (Julie) Ireland of Connecticut, Douglas (Denise) Ireland of Williamsville and Gregory (fiancé Ginelle) Ireland of Batavia. 

He is also survived by his brother David (Diane) Ireland of Texas, his sister Florine Fenton of Batavia, his sister-in-law Anne Ireland of Batavia, 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM on Thursday, July 29th and 3 to 7PM Friday, July 30th at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main St., Batavia, NY 14020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday July 31st at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (Our Lady of Good Council), 10677 Alleghany Rd. in Darien, NY. Burial in Our Lady of Good Counsel Cemetery in Darien, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for distribution to various charities.
