Donald J. Brockenshire

Donald J. Brockenshire, 80 of Batavia, NY died August 11, 2010 at United Memorial Medical Center. Born October 23, 1929 in Buffalo, son of the late Harold J. (Margaret Rhodes) Brockenshire. 

Mr. Brockenshire was a Korean War veteran having served in the US Army. A past member of the VFW in Randolph, NY and past member of the East Pembroke Coon Hunters Association. Don was formerly employed at the former St. Jerome’s Hospital in Batavia for over 18 years before retiring.

Preceded in death by his wife the late Mary Brockenshire in (2000) and daughter Carol Carnafel in (1996). 

Survived by a son Norman (Mary) Brockenshire of Batavia, 3 sisters June (Richard) Rice of FL, Margaret (Frances) Murphy of Friendship and Dorothy Penvose of OR; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren survive along with several nieces, nephews and  a dear friend Josephine Hanson of Batavia. 

Friends may call on Friday August 13, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main Street, Batavia, NY 14020. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday August 14, 2010 at Holy Name of Mary Church 8656 Church St. East Pembroke, NY 14056. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, East Pembroke.
