Roy MacConnell

Batavia - Mr. Roy MacConnell, 93, of Batavia, died Sunday, (September 12, 2010)at the Genesee County Nursing Home.
Mr. MacConnell was born March 1, 1917, in Bergen, a son of the late Fred and Mildred (Fuller) MacConnell.
He was a utility engineer at Eastman Kodak Company for 34 years. After his retirement from Kodak, he worked at Byron-Bergen Central School for 13 years. A lifetime farmer in the Bergen area, Mr. MacConnell most recently volunteered at the New York State Veteran’s Home in Batavia.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Shirley (Carpenter) MacConnell of Batavia; a son, Greg MacConnell of Plattsburgh; grandchildren, Blaise MacConnell of New Hampshire, Dustin MacConnell of New Hampshire, Patrick and his wife Cathlene MacConnell of Charleston, South Carolina and Sarah and her husband Owen Fussey of Plattsburgh; two great-grandchildren, Aislynn and Avery MacConnell; a daughter-in-law, Sandy (Redick) MacConnell of New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. MacConnell is predeceased by his son, Brad MacConnell and brothers and sisters. 
There are no prior calling hours and services will be private. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery.   Memorials may be made to the North Bergen Presbyterian Church, 7068 North Bergen Road, Bergen, N.Y. 14416.
