Donald C. Partis

Batavia - Donald C. Partis, 74, of Batavia, passed away Saturday, (January 1, 2011) at the Batavia Nursing Home. Don was born in Rochester September 22, 1936, a son of the late Sidney and Margaret Palmer Partis.

Don was a 1954 Madison High School, Rochester graduate and earned an electrical engineering degree from RIT in 1960. He worked as an electrical engineer at Magnavox and Sylvania for several years before becoming a sole proprietor for an Office Coffee Service for 20 years. Upon selling the business he was the office manager for Grandview Cemetery for 14 years. Don was active in Amateur Radio, especially emergency radio communications.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jeanette Armison Partis; two sons, Mark (Kathleen) Partis of Pennsylvania and Alan (Denis) Partis of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Nathaniel, Camille and Sydney Partis; two brothers, Richard (Christine) Partis of Illinois and Frederick Partis of Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Duane (Mary) Armison of Franklinville and Lynn (Rebecca) Armison of Rushford; a sister-in-law, Dolores (Carl) Civiletti of Florida; father-in-law, Alfred Armison of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, followed by a Celebration of the Life of Donald Partis buffet at Bohn’s Restaurant, Batavia. Memorials are suggested to Genesee Cancer Assistance Inc., 16 Bank Street, Batavia, NY 14020, Genesee Symphony Orchestra, P.O.
