Nellie Crompton

LeRoy - Mrs. Nellie Crompton, 97, of LeRoy and formerly of Batavia, died Friday, (February 11, 2011) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

Mrs. Crompton was born December 3, 1913 in Batavia, the daughter of the late Glenn and Edna (DeWolf) Hutton.

Mrs. Crompton was an assistant cook at the New York State School for the Blind in Batavia. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Batavia, where she belonged to the Wentworth Class. Mrs. Cromtpon was also a member of the Holland Purchase Historical Society, IARP and the Business Girls Home Demonstration of Cooperative Extension Agency.

Survivors include her dear friend, Barbara Dunton of Renton, Washington and her family.

She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur Crompton and her son, Paul Glenn Crompton.

Private services will be held at a later date at Grandview Cemetery, Clinton Street, Batavia. Memorials may be made to the Chemotherapy Department of Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, N.Y. 14620. Condolences may be made at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com.
