Diane Marie Lowe

Batavia- Miss Diane Marie Lowe, 52, of Batavia, an Insurance Broker at Carmichael Insurance Agency in Oakfield, died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Strong Memorial Hospital after a year long battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family.

Miss Lowe was born September 7, 1958 in Batavia, a daughter of Arthur "Buzz" and Carol (Oakes) Lowe, both of Oakfield.

She attended the Oakfield Community Bible Church, formerly played in the hand bell choir and sang in the church choir.  She was a member of the Oakfield Alabama High School Class of 1976 and former member of the Genesee Valley Women's Bowling Association.  She enjoyed her many trips to Disney World and was an avid fan of the Disney character "Goofy".  She also enjoyed arts and crafts, softball and reading.

She was formerly employed at the Genesee County Nursing Home and P.W. Minor Shoe Factory. 

Surviving along with her parents are a brother, Buzz (Debbie) Lowe of Oakfield; 2 sisters, Janice (Mark) Colopy and Joanne (Jeff) Qamoos, both of Oakfield; a special Friend, Jim Carmichael; 4 nieces, Sarah Lowe, Ashley Colopy, Jessica Colopy and Kellie (Robert) Buchanan; a nephew, Buzzie (Amanda) Lowe; 3 great-nieces, Laney, Morgan and Madison and a great-nephew, Austin.  

Friends may call on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Oakfield Community Bible Church, 80 North Main St., Oakfield where services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for distribution to various charities.  Burial will be in Cary Cemetery, Oakfield.  Condolences may be made at www.burdettandsanford.com,
