 Ronald G. Gibson Sr. 79, of Oakfield, NY died  December 15, 2010 at his home. He was born May 28, 1931 in Shelocta, PA a son of the late Glenn and Ruth (Keith) Gibson.  Mr. Gibson worked for Rochester Products a Division of General Motors for over 17 years before retiring. He was an exceptional mechanic and inventor, having built his own airplane and helicopter. He had a pilot’s license for single engine aircraft and refurbished farm tractors as a pastime.  He was preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren the late Ally Walker and Evan Ferchen. 
 
He is survived by his wife Rebecca (Moore) Gibson of Oakfield, 6 children Ronald G. (Deborah) Gibson Jr. of Batavia, Michael L. (Patricia) Gibson of Oakfield, Gloria (Stephen) Ferchen of Lockport, Judith (Frank) Mack of Elba, Susan (Richard) Abraham of Akron, and Betty (Lynn) Kirchner of Oakfield.  3 Brothers and 3 sisters Norman (Evelyn) Gibson of Byron, Lawrence (Chris) Gibson of Albion, Kenneth (Sue) Gibson of Basom, Gloria (John) Falker of North Carolina, Marilyn(Art) Mason of New Jersey, and Doris Cole of New Mexico. 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild survive along with many nieces and nephews. 
 
 Friends may call on Friday December 17, 2010 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main Street, Batavia New York 14020. Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the  Funeral Home.

Elba - Mr. Willie L. McGill Sr., 82, of Elba and most recently a resident at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home, died Wednesday, (December 15, 2010) at the Buffalo General Hospital.

Mr. McGill was born April 18, 1928 in Rhine, Georgia, a son of the late Willie and Minnie Mae (Johnson) McGill.

Mr. McGill was a machinist at Doehler Jarvis and also drove refuge truck for the ARC. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elba and enjoyed reading his Bible. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills. Mr. McGill loved life and his family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Hazel Walker of Lockport, Willie McGill Jr. of Elba, Marcus (Cindy) McGill of Hemlock, Dorsie (Melissia) McGill of Batavia and Robert (Penny) McGill of Churchville; a brother, Gary (Ann) McGill of Georgia; a sister, Elain (Joseph) Manning of Georgia; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His wife, Orgia McGill died in 2004. He is also predeceased by his brothers and sisters and is the father-in-law of the late Ruth Ann McGill and Robert Walker.

Calling hours are Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Elba, 31 South Main Street, Elba. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba. Batavia - Mrs. Evelyn E. Casper, 97, of Batavia, died Monday, (December 13, 2010) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

Mrs. Casper was born August 21, 1913 in Pembroke, the daughter of the late Bert and Bertha (Slusser) Joslyn.

Survivors include a son, Larry (Peg) Casper of Batavia; five grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Her husband, Joseph Casper, died in 1993.

There are no prior calling hours. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Burial will be in North Pembroke Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home, 10 Munson Street, LeRoy, N.Y. 14482. Condolences may be made at www.burdettandsanford.com

 

Batavia - Mrs Jeannette A. Gallant, 84, formerly employed as a Registered Nurse at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home and as a parish secretary at St. Joseph’s Church, died Sunday, December 12, 2010at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home, in Livonia.
Mrs. Gallant was born December 4, 1926 in West Wallrich, Rhode Island, the daughter of the late Jean B. and Mary E. Snow Cazes.
She was a member of Resurrection Parish-St. Joseph’s Church, the Sodality and a Eucharistic Minister of the Church and served on the Town of Batavia Planning Board.
Survivors include one son; Geoffrey (Kimberly) Gallant of Massachusetts; three daughters, Nancy (Kevin) Bellimer of Avon, NY, Beverly (Joseph) Finnivan of Massachusetts and Denise Priest of Texas and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St., Batavia.   Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 am Thursday at Resurrection Parish - St. Joseph Church, 303 E. mulligan.jpgAge 64, of Rochester formerly of Batavia died peacefully Monday afternoon December 13, 2010 at Rochester General Hospital after a long illness. She was born August 4, 1946 in Buffalo daughter of the late Samuel & Grace (Cincotta) Bradman. Mrs. Mulligan was a Teacher's Aid for many years with the Batavia City School District where she was actively involved in many school activities. She was a Girl Scout Leader, avid knitter and reader. A dedicated wife, mother & grandmother to not only her own children but many others who she cared and guided in life. An amazing woman whose resilient spirit carried her through the final years of her life with so much grace and dignity.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years William J. of Rochester; loving children Martin of Rochester, Susan (Randy) McFarland of Raleigh, NC, Betsy (Devon) Marrinan of Rochester & Joseph (Beatriz) of New Paltz; sister of James Bradman of Attica, David (Tischa) Bradman of Canton, Dennis Baudhuin & Darlene (James) Graczyk both of Pembroke; adoring grandmother to twins Payton & Emma McFarland, Kate & Megan Marrinan along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.

The family will be present from 3-5 & 7-9 PM Thursday December 16, 2010 at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC at 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 8:30 PM. Memorials in Laura's memory are suggested to Golisano Children's Hospital 601 Elmwood Ave. Rochester, New York 14624.

Boryczka 69, of Batavia, died December 8, 2010 in United Memorial Medical Center. She was born July 3, 1941 in  Dunkirk, New York to the late Casimer and Madilon (Schrantz) Mekus. Mrs. Boryczka was a Member of Ascension Parish (St. Anthony’s), past president of the St. Anthony’s Home School Association, a lunch room aid and a home room mother. She was a volunteer for numerous groups, a long time member of the Town of Batavia Fire Department Auxiliary. She was an avid crafter and had her own crafting business “Designs by Carol”. She was a loving grandmother. She was preceded in death by her son Thomas Cass Boryczka, her brother the late Eugene Mekus and her sisters Frances “Peggy” Bajdas and Lois Mekus. 

 
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Thomas P. Boryczka of Batavia, son Thomas F. (Sandra) Boryczka of Elba, daughters Cheryl (Terrence Valentine) Houseknecht of Dunkirk and Deborah (Jeffrey) Westling of Dunkirk. One brother James (Ruth) Mekus of Dunkirk, brother in law Henry Bajdas of Dunkirk and sister in law Gail Riforgiate of Portland, NY survives along with 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Richard Alfred Sinsabaugh, 84, of Oakfield,  died Wednesday (December 8, 2010) at Buffalo Veterans Administration Medical Center.

He was born in Sayer, PA on December 31, 1925, a son of the late Irving and Beatrice Benjamin Sinsabaugh.

Mr. Sinsabaugh was a pathologist assistant at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayer, PA prior to his retirement.  He was an Army veteran of WWII having served from 1944 to 1946.

Surviving is his wife, Althea Reno Sinsabaugh of Oakfield.  Children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Private services will be conducted in Sayer, PA.

JALITUS, ANN0001.jpgAnn Pulvino Jalitus, 92, of Batavia, formerly of Akron, died Wednesday (December 8, 2010) at Genesee County Nursing Home.

She was born in Batavia on November 25, 1918, a daughter of the late Louis and Josephine Cascio Pulvino.

Her husband, Pius Jalitus died on May 2, 2002.

Mrs. Jalitus was a self employed hair dresser in Akron for many years until her retirement.  She was a member of  Assembly of God Church in Batavia.  Ann was an excellent cook and loved gardening and reading.

Surviving is a daughter and son in law, Mary Adamson and Brad Rykert of Corfu.  A grand daughter Kara Rykert of Corfu.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was the sister of the late: Rose Pulvino, Angeline Ruffino, Jane Cataldo, Josephine Ferge, Frances Rizzo, Anna Cusimano and Fred Pulvino.

Visitation will be Saturday from 4 - 7 PM at the J. LEONRD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA,  where services will be Sunday at 2PM.

In lieu of flowers, memnorial contributions may be made to Assembly of God Church  or St. Stephens Table, both at 24 N. Spruce St., Batavia, NY 14020.

Burial will  be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

aqu1.jpgBridget M. Aquino 96, of Batavia, NY  died Wednesday December 8, 2010 at Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia. She was born in Batavia November 5, 1914 to the late Frank  and Angeline (Gustaferro) Seppe. Mrs. Aquino was retired from GTE Sylvania where she worked for 25 years. She was a member of Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s), an avid bingo player and she loved to travel. She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew A. Aquino Sr., her son Andrew A. Aquino Jr., brothers Louis Seppe, Carl Seppe, Philip Sepi, Dominic Sepi and Gabe Sepi. Two Sisters Rose Sepi, Josephine Battaglia, three granddaughters Bridget, Christine Aquino and Pam Korenak.
 
She is survived by her sons Frank (Carol) Aquino of Elba, Carl (Priscilla) Aquino, Charles (Rosemary) Aquino, Robert Aquino all of Batavia and William (Margaret) Aquino of Tonawanda, also a daughter Mary DiSalvo of Batavia. Brother Angelo (the late Olive) Seppe of Batavia survives along with 20 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a couple of great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 
 
Friends may call on Sunday December 12, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company Inc. 329-333 W Main St. Batavia, NY. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 AM on Monday at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s), 18 Ellicott Street, Batavia, NY.

Batavia - Mrs. Beatrice E. Walsh, age 75, of Batavia, clerk at the former Lane Drugs Store and Alberty Drug Store, both in Batavia, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Mrs. Walsh was born January 8, 1935 in Batavia, the daughter of the late Bernard E. and Alma E. Fisher Bateman.
A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Batavia, Mrs. Walsh enjoyed dancing, baking, bowling, hosting family gatherings and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Norman G. Walsh; three sons, Carl (Janice) Kruger, Jr. of Indiana, Glen (Rebecca) Kruger of Batavia and Roger (Ellie Hays) Kruger of Texas; the children’s father, Carl Kruger, Sr. of Batavia; two step-sons, David (Dorothy) Walsh of Lake Park, Florida and Steven (Marie) Walsh of Batavia; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (late Dorothy) Walsh of Vermont, seventeen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Glen W. Kruger and her brothers-in-law, Alfred Kruger, Harold (Grace) Kruger and Leland (Doris) Walsh.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Batavia.
