WANDA KISIEL-PULVINO

Age 97, of Batavia, passed away peacefully Sunday evening April 10, 2011 to be with her beloved husband Fred V. Pulvino and departed family members. She was born January 7, 1914 in Batavia daughter of the late Stanley & Gladys (Wisniewski) Kisiel, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Cecil & Stanley Kisiel, sisters Helen Johnson, Marian Pcionek, Dorothy Kujawski and Eleanor Di Filippo. She had to leave school while in the 8th grade to help her family during the depression and worked at a bakery in Buffalo. She then returned to Batavia and worked for the Roy & Alicee Mason Family on the Seven Springs Road. She also worked at the E.N. Rowell Box Factory, and when her brother Cecil Kisiel started the Kisiel Die Casting Company she worked as a supervisor for 20 years until she retired in July of 1973. Mrs. Pulvino was a lifelong member of Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart).

     Wanda married Fred V. Pulvino on April 27, 1940 and took great pleasure in her home, family and enjoyed a blessed life. She traveled often to visit her family wherever they were at the time. She was a great cook and her great-grandchildren always told her she had the best spaghetti sauce in the world. Wanda was a hard worker and never complained, always getting the job done. Wanda will be missed by her family and friends whose lives have been touched by this amazing woman.

     Wanda Kisiel-Pulvino is survived by her loving children, Carol (Leo) Kiebala of Atlanta, GA; Louis Pulvino, Sr. (Sue) of Rochester and JoAnn (Russell) Nephew of Batavia where she has lived for the past 1 1/2 years along with their dog Abbey whom she adored and who will miss her. A brother Henry Kisiel, brother-in-law Henry Kujawski both of Batavia; 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a dear cousin Florence Kujawski of Batavia, dearest friend Marian Merton along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

     Family and friends may attend visitation from 3-7 PM Wednesday April 13, 2011 at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC at 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:00 AM Thursday April 14, 2011 followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart Site). Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery and the family suggests memorials in her memory be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
