Carolyn K. Corbett

Newark/Bath - Carolyn K. Corbett, 66, of Newark, formerly of Bath, passed away Tuesday, (May 2, 2017) at Rochester General Hospital, in Rochester, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Corbett was born August 17, 1950 in Geneva, a daughter of Frances “Fran” (Fuller) Kerns of Clifton Springs and the late Oscar Kerns.

Prior to her retirement, Carolyn was a Public Health Nurse with Steuben County Health Department.  She was a longtime supporter and volunteer of the Steuben County Humane Society.  She was a lover of all animals, especially dogs.  Carolyn had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed cross-stitching, and spending time with her family.

She is the wife of James C. Corbett, of Newark.  The two were married in Clifton Springs on September 27, 1975.

Surviving along with her husband and mother are two daughters, Jessica (Nicholas) Boise and Mary-Kate Corbett; two sisters, Myrla (Bruce) Elliot and Beverly Kerns; nephews, Robert Elliot, Richard Elliot, Greg (Crystal) Corbett, Geoff (Michelle) Corbett, and Neil Crevling; great-nieces, Skylar, Brooklyn, and Lila Corbett.

Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, 4025 West Main Street, Williamson, where Carolyn’s Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  The Corbett family requests that in lieu of memorials, please consider donating food for a dog or cat to your local animal shelter.  Burial will be in Newark Cemetery, Newark.
