John D. Williams

John D. Williams, 76 of Batavia, NY. Died July 4, 2011 at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born December 18, 1934 in Batavia, NY to the late Francis J. (Ruth A. Donahue) Williams. Mr. Williams was retired from Coca Cola Bottling Company where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, an Army Veteran, a member of the DAV, and the Genesee County Police Auxiliary. He played semi pro football for 2 years and was an avid golfer. He is preceded in death by his brother Donald F. Williams, sisters Patricia Epke, Jayne Mason, Ruth Kowalik and Mary E. Luce.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Florence (Olmstead) Williams of Batavia, son John D. (Colette) Williams II of Maine, daughters Charise (James) Donahue of Batavia, Peggy (Daniel) McComb of Batavia, Christine Boyce of Rochester, Sandy Cory of Akron and Susan Stone of Akron. Also brothers James A. (Katherine) Williams, Lawrence Williams both of Batavia, sister in law Teresa Williams of Attica and brother in law John Kowalik of Batavia, who survive along with 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday July 7, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM  at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main Street, Batavia New York 14020. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Avenue, Batavia, New York.
