DOUGLAS M. BEZON ~ Batavia

Longtime owner/operator of the Sunset Motel died peacefully Friday morning May 26, 2017 at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at the age of 73. He was born February 15, 1944 in Batavia, son of the late Joseph A. and Stephania (Mickey) Bezon also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph M. Bezon, Jr.,  Richard Bezon and sister, Monica Bezon-Rice. 

Doug was a US Army Veteran, a member of the Mercedes-Benz Club and enjoyed racing. In his younger years he enjoyed quarter-horses and sky diving, as his health declined he loved car rides and stops at Darien Lake. 

Surviving is his companion, Deborah Murphy of Batavia; brother, Eugene (Susan) Bezon of Elba; sisters-in-law, Edith Bezon of Byron and Joan Bezon of Florida along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and his four legged companions, Brandy & Rosie. 

The family will be present from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Tuesday May 30 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:30am Wednesday May 31 followed by a mass of Christian Burial 10:00am at Ascension Parish; he will be laid to rest with his parents in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, WNY Chapter 2805 Wehrle Drive Suite 6 Williamsville, NY 14221.
