Cathrine I. Rodgers

Cathrine I. Rodgers, 93 of Akron, died Wednesday (Nov. 2, 2011) at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Corfu on July 26, 1918, a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Heywood Schumacher.

Her husband, William E. Rodgers died in 1979.

Mrs. Rodgers was a member of St. Teresa of Avila RC Church in Akron and loved being with her family, gardening and crocheting.

Surviving are two daughters, Ann (late Duncan) Chalmers of Akron and Kathy (Robert) Shepard of LeRoy.  Two sons, William (Nancy) Rodgers of Akron and Richard (Pamela) Rodgers of Lockport.  Twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren also survive. along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 - 5 PM at the J. Leonard McAndrew Funeral Home, LLC, 32 John St., Akron where prayers will be Monday at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10AM at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Akron Volunteer Ambulance Fund.

Burial will be in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery.
