Niagara Falls - Doris Henry (Mayl), age 68 of Niagara Falls, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Center.

Doris was born on August 14, 1952 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Kenneth Henry Sr. and Minnie Vitatoe Henry.

Surviving are her son, James A. (Roxanne) Henry of Rochester; three grandchildren; Adele, Tessa and Angus Henry, all of Rochester; four brothers; Ronald (Linda) Henry of Rochester, Kenny (Kathy) Henry of Montgomery, Alabama, Jimmy D. Henry of Dothan, Alabama, and Samuel (Allison & Rosalia) Henry of Virginia; her sister; Jackie Henry of Albion; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

She is predeceased by her sisters, Betty Havens and Bonnie Jean Marsciell.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, June 13th, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm  at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, where services will follow immediately at 4 pm. barbarayoung.jpgBarbara Young, 87 of Attica, passed away peacefully at Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility on Monday, June 7, 2021. She was born September 5, 1933 to the late Anna Stawicki. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Philip Young Jr. and brother John “Jack” Stawicki.  

Mrs. Young worked years ago at Woolworth’s in Cheektowaga. She was an active member of Sts. Joachim & Anne Parish, singing in the choir and member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was past President of Tri Town Senior Citizens. Barb loved garage sales, flea markets, gardening and bingo.

She is survived by her beloved sons, Roy (Cheryl) Young, Philip (LuAnn) Young III, William (Sally) Young, 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 4-7 PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC., 135 Main St., Attica, NY 14011. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Sts. Joachim & Anne Parish, 2311 Attica Rd, Varysburg, NY 14167. clifft.jpg  Clifford H. Thompson, 96, of Bergen passed away peacefully on Sunday June 6, 2021 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home. He was born on December 5, 1924 in Batavia to the late Glenn and Zelda (Haywood) Thompson. In addition to his parents, Clifford was predeceased by his loving wife; Arlene (Luplow) Thompson; sons Wayne and Scott Thompson; brother Bob Thompson and sisters Ruth Johnson and Martha Thompson.

Clifford was a United States Army veteran during WWII earning 3 Bronze Star medals. He was a farmer, a school bus driver and worked for many years at the United Methodist Church in Batavia. Clifford enjoyed to travel in his younger years and loved spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his daughter in law; Robin Thompson of Bergen; sister in law Mary Thompson of Elba; grandchildren Steven Thompson and Mary Thompson; 1 great-granddaughter Madison Tryon, along with several nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 10:00AM Graveside Service will be held on Friday June 11, 2021 at Grandview Cemetery on Clinton St. in Batavia.

gail.png  Gail M. Joyce, 67 of E. Pembroke, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 6, 2021. She was born on February 9, 1954 in Batavia to Jean (Pfalzer) Ewert of E. Pembroke and the late Richard Ewert.

Gail enjoyed woodworking and gardening. She cherished the time she spent with her granddaughters.  

She is survived by her beloved husband Joseph J. Joyce of E. Pembroke, children Eileen Peterson of Corfu and Neil (Olga) Joyce of Pittsford, siblings Gary (Beth) Ewert of Darien, Cindy Judd of Pembroke, Jerry (Peggy) Ewert of Corfu, granddaughters Alyssa, Payton, Olivia, Audrina, Alexandra, Christina, Natali, along with several nieces and nephews.

Peter Gaines Schultz passed away on April 21, 2021 at the age of 60 years to lung cancer.  He was born on January 19, 1961 at Genesee Memorial Hospital in Batavia, New York to Charlotte Buchholtz Schultz and Lawrence Henry Schultz Jr. On the day he was born, his mother requested a television to watch the inauguration of John F. Kennedy. 
Peter was a graduate of Batavia High School and began working at Lapp Insulator Co. while attending Genesee Community College for a business degree. He went on to attend Brockport University while continuing to work at Lapp. Eventually, Peter was part of a partnership that purchased the bushing division of Lapp Insulator and created PCore Electric Company.  He was Vice President of Operations for PCore Electric and stayed on to run the company when it was sold to Hubbell Corporation.  During his 37 years with the company he helped to develop and patent part of the bushing to help standardize their manufacturing. Peter enjoyed golf and played for years in the Tuesday night league. He was also an avid euchre player, playing with friends in a card group for almost 30 years. He will be remembered for his booming laugh, love of monster movies and his boisterous presence at his childrens’ various sports games and musical performances.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Caroline and their three children Russell, Audrey and Marshall; his brother Lawence H. Schultz III (Melissa), nieces Racheal and Lauren Schultz, his cousin Charlotte Church and extended family, Beverly Schultz, Patricia Sitts and James (Sharon) Lowe.
Services to be held graveside at Grandview Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. June 11, 2021 with a reception following at noon in LeRoy at his home at 139 East Main St.

Batavia ~ John P. Henning, age 59, of Ellicott Street, passed away at home unexpectedly on May 31, 2021.

     He was born March 14, 1962 in Batavia, a son of the late George and Cecelia Duch Henning.

     John will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle and friend, who just adored his children.  He enjoyed his daily walks, working outdoors and visiting with his many friends.  He was also a member of the Polish Falcons.

     He is survived by his children, Johnny Jr., Ashley and Andrew; his siblings, Joseph (Beverly) Henning, Ronald Henning, Thomas (Molly) Henning, James (Virginia) Henning, MaryAnn (Patrick) Badame and Lori (Tad) Cory, 5 nieces, 8 nephews, along with several great nieces and great nephews.

     Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 8 from 4~ 8 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy. (Facemasks must be worn for visitation).  Services and interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery will be private.

glor_mildred_-_photo1.jpgMildred C. (Francis) Glor, 96 of Henrietta, formerly of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (June 2, 2021) at her residence under the loving care of her family and hospice.

She was born August 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Edward and Agnes Sczepanski Graff.

She is predeceased by her husbands, Roger Francis in 1989, Richard Glor in 2013. Also the sister of the late Harold Graff, Dorothy Winch, Edward Graff Jr. and Paul Graff.

Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Lynn (Cynthia) Francis of Rochester. Grandchildren, Brent Francis, Emily (Todd Rosenzwieg), Bradley (Amy) Francis. 7 Great-grandchildren. Brother and sisters, Rita Amend, Irene Cherry and Alfred (Sharon) Graff.

Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Sunday (June 6th) from 2-4pm at the J. LEONARD McANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia. robertgdusen.jpgRobert Dusen, 102, of Attica, passed away on June 3, 2021 at the NYS Veterans Home in Batavia. Bob was born May 23, 1919 in Batavia to the late Frank and Lillian Dusen. He is predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Shirley Goodliff Dusen; daughter Roberta McCullar; granddaughter Laurie Watson; brothers Lloyd, Earl & Donald; sisters Viola & Hazel.

Bob grew up in Batavia and graduated from Batavia High School in 1938. In 1941 he was drafted by the Army Air Corps where he spent his time in England maintaining B17’s. Bob came home to Batavia where he worked as a carpenter and raise his family before moving to Bennington in 1962. He spent several years as a member of North Darien Bible Church and spent his time whittling and creating wood carvings.

Bob spent his final years in Attica before moving into the NYS Veterans Home in 2017.

Bob is survived by his children Bonnie Chimiak of Michigan, Wayne (Sharon) Dusen, Mark (Lynn) Dusen of Attica and Troy Dusen of Florida, his loving grandchildren, several great and great-great-grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Dolores Coughlin of Batavia.

JULY 6, 1930 - MAY 27, 2021

Robert Burns, 90, of Vero Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home under the loving care of VNA Hospice on May 27, 2021 to be reunited in Heaven with his parents Archie and Harriet.

Bob was a fixture in his Vero Beach neighborhood, which he patrolled daily with his beloved nonhuman companions Trixie and Dixie. He embraced the warmth of many neighbors and friends and excelled in his ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds. He possessed a sharp wit and a genuine smile.

He relished working with his hands, tinkering in his workshop and passing the time of day with a face-to-face chat with people of all walks of life. A Veteran of the United States Army and former engineer with Conrail, Bob enjoyed each day of his retirement and the warmth of the Florida sunshine in his adopted Vero Beach.

In addition to his many, many friends he is survived by: his three children Robert (Linda) Burns, of Memphis, Tenn., Lori (Howard) Cohen, of South Carolina, Thomas (Kelly) Burns, of Batavia, NY; his four grandchildren; his former wife Antoinette Burns, of Batavia, NY; his surviving siblings, nieces and nephews; as well as his best friend and confidant Angela, who over many years shared with Bob all that should be enjoyed in the daily experience of a true friendship.

At his request no services will be held and Bob will be returned to his native Upstate New York for burial in his final resting place near his deceased family members.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in his memory to Hospice VNA of Vero Beach or any animal rescue organization of the donor's choice.

Medina - Patricia  J.  Hendershott-Matthews, 85, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Orchard Rehab and Nursing Center in Medina.

She was born  August 4, 1935 in Albion, a daughter of the late Thomas and Jenny Tuttle Monagan.

She worked as a lab technician for Eastman Kodak in Rochester for many years and was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and The Elba Elegants. While she resided at Orchard Manor Nursing Home she served as the president of the resident council, an honor she was very proud of.  A longtime fan and former season ticket holder for the Buffalo Bills, she loved the outdoors and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley.  She enjoyed singing karaoke, playing Bingo and card games, especially euchre and skip-bo.

Patricia is the wife of Douglas R. Hendershott Sr. who passed away on April 21, 1991.

She is survived by her children; Susan (Karl) Slate of Batavia, Douglas R. (Debra) Hendershott, Jr. of Oakfield, Kevin (Barbara) Hendershott Sr. and Thomas (Christine) Hendershott, both of the Town of Alabama, NY; son-in-law, Thomas Pillo of Batavia,16 grandchildren; Jennifer Gangi, Eric (Juan) Slate, Daniel Gangi, Jaimee (Cory) Coles, Barbara Hendershott, Patricia (Pedro) Diaz , Douglas Hendershott III, Kevin (Courtney) Hendershott, Jr., Mathew (Elise) Hendershott, David (Nastia) Hendershott, Jessica (Josh) Maskell, Darcy Hendershott, Steven Maskell, Mack Marinaccio, Keith Pillo and Kristina Simon ; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law; Betty Monagan of Batavia and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her children; Catherine (late Doug) Hendershott-Donnelly, Keith (late Sandra) Hendershott and Sherryl A. Pillo and her siblings; Henry, William, Thomas and Albert Monagan, Mary Demmer, Lorraine Kinney, Bertha Dibble, Evelyn Hale and Ida Townsend.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021  from 4:00 pm  to 7:00 pm  at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia where her funeral services will follow immediately at 7 p.m. She will be laid to rest on Thursday morning at 10 am in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads House, P.O.
