Edward A. Miller, 92 of Batavia, formerly of Alexander and Attica, passed peacefully on Tuesday March 17, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born June 19, 1922 in Greigsville, NY to the late Harry (Elsie Stevens) Miller. He is preceded in death by his wife Hazel May Miller; son Russ Miller; daughter Maggie (Marsha) Miller; granddaughters Rachel Miller and Meredith Schaefer; brother Everett Miller.

Mr. Miller worked in sales at Fischer Storage Sheds in Liecester. He was a life member of Alexander Volunteer Fire Department; current member of Bethany Fire Department, and Oliver Tractor Association. Mr. Miller was an avid card player, fisherman, square dancer and enjoyed auctions.

He is survived by his six children Roger (Judy) Miller of Spring Grove, VA., Greg (Ann) Miller of East Bethany, Jeff Miller of Port Charlotte, FL., Paul (Sheri) Miller of Alexander, Paula (George) Miller-Schaefer of Norfolk, VA., Vicki (Jeff) Wolak of East Bethany; daughter-in-law Belinda (Rick) Miller Cox of East Bethany; family member Julie Pearce of Sebring, FL along with many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Marcia E. Lawrence, 68 of Alexander, passed peacefully on Tuesday March 17, 2015 at ECMC in Buffalo. She was born August 28, 1946 in Warsaw to the late Robert (Ruth Beardsley) Bender. She is preceded in death by her sister Claudia Carothers.

Marcia worked as a Med Tech at UMMC for 35 years and she loved to travel.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years Jim F. Lawrence of Alexander; children Cathy and Dave Lawrence both of Batavia; brother Michael (Gail) Bender of Webster; brothers-in-law Joe Carothers of Baldwinsville; Richard Williams of Watkins Glen, along with several nieces and nephews.

GLORIA G. NEUBERT - age 81, of Batavia, NY died Tuesday morning March 17, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born July 9, 1933 in Batavia to the late Sidney John and Rose Matilda (Taber) Gear also preceded in death by her husband, Francis C. "Frank" Neubert and siblings, Barbara Bowen and Ronald Gear.

   Gloria was an operator for 35 years with the former NY Telephone, a longtime member of Resurrection Parish and member of the former Red Hats. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling and being on the go but most important to her was her family, especially her grandchildren.

   Surviving are her loving children, Frank (Frances) Neubert of Syracuse, Sue Giamartino of Ballston Spa, NY and Christina (Michael "Skinny") Rose of Batavia; brothers, William Gear of AZ, Arthur (Fran) Gear of Batavia, Sidney (Laura) Gear of Rochester, David Gear of Batavia; brother-in-law, Alex (Mary) Neubert of Batavia; 6 grandchildren, Chris and Keith Neubert, David (Kate) & Daniel Giamartino, Michael and Sydney Rose along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

ROBERT J. BUMP Age 33, of LeRoy, died Friday afternoon March 13, 2015 at his home. He was born June 17, 1981 in Warsaw, NY a son of Ralph and Tina (Orr) Bump of Byron.  

   Robert served 13 years with the United States Navy and was last stationed in Norfolk, VA and loved nothing more than to be on a ship. He was an assistant manager at the Yellow Goose in LeRoy and truly loved being a dad to his son, Maddix.

   Surviving along with his parents, his wife, Alexandra (Keller) and their son Maddix of Rochester; son, Nevon; daughter, Nariah both of OK; brothers, Jason (Becky) of Perry, Derek (Carrie) of Batavia and Anthony (Mindy) of Westfield, PA; maternal grandmother, Rose Orr of Bergen; paternal grandmother, Mary Louise Bump of Batavia; mother-in-law, Carol Keller of Rochester; father-in-law, Richard (Shelley) Keller of Goodyear, AZ along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins..

   Robert's family will be present from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday March 17, 2015 at the MICHAEL S. BEVERLY J. "BEV" COWELL - age 72, of Conway, SC formerly of Corfu, NY died Monday March 9, 2015 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 28, 1942 in Canada to the late Glenn and Violet (McCrone) Cowell also preceded in death by a brother, Glen Cowell Jr.

   Bev was an avid golfer and pilot who had a love of everything aviation. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, wonderful father, grandfather and caring friend to all.

   Surviving is his beloved wife of 50 years, Sharon (Irrera) Cowell of Conway, SC; loving children, Christine (Karl Thiegles) Morse of Wayland, NY, Steven (Tammy) Cowell of Batavia, NY, Jacqueline (Tom) Carey of Marilla, NY and Michael (Jennelle) Cowell of N. Tonawanda, NY; brothers, William (Brenda) Cowell of Ontario, Canada, Donald (Shelly) Cowell of Calgary, Alberta; sisters-in-law, Marie (Leo) Reger of Conway, SC and Joan Cowell of Calgary, Alberta; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, golfing and flying buddies.

Terry I. Luczak, 64,of Batavia passed away on Wednesday March 11, 2015 at her home. She was born December 11, 1950 in Warsaw to the late Lawrence C. (Dorothy Clute) Ferris. She is preceded in death by her brother Lawrence C. Ferris Jr. and sister Karen Ferris.

Terry graduated from Perry Central School in 1968, and majored in Cosmetology. She was a former member of the Perry Baptist Church. While living in Perry, Terry enjoyed dancing at the Sands-A-Barn, snowmobiling and playing bingo.Terry married and moved to Waterport and had two children whom she loved; J. Micheal Luczak and Renee I. Luczak. She was very active in both of their lives. While raising her children she worked multiple restaurants as a waitress.   Terry was very family driven and outgoing. She was always willing to help anyone in need. Terry enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking for family and had a love for animals.

She is survived by her loving children J. Micheal (Anastasia) Luczak of Barker, Renee (George "Porgie" Brown) Luczak of Waterport; fiancé Robert Price of Batavia; brothers Kerry (Barbara) Ferris of Perry, Douglas (Penny) Ferris of East Bethany; sisters Vickie Ott of Lakeville, Cindy (Terry) Hale of Batavia; grandchildren Austin Luczak, Brittany Luczak, Jacob Luczak, Brooke Brown, Ryen Brown, Jorge Brown, Matthew Kieffer along with several nieces and nephews.

Catherine Riforgiato Conte entered into the haven of eternal peace on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 after a brief illness. At the time of her passing she was living in Florida with her daughter but was a resident of Batavia, New York for 63 years. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Lawrence, sister Jenny and brother Anthony.

She loved to cook, shop, garden and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survived by three children: Barbara (David) Wedow of Jacksonville, Florida, Lawrence (Mary) Conte of Fairport, NY, and Gary (Anne) Conte of Chicago, Illinois; Seven grandchildren: Tammy, Tina, Gina, Beth, Kimberly, Kristin and Kevin and nine great grandchildren and numerous dear cousins.

Nova E. Caccamise of Byron passed away on Wednesday March 4, 2015 Strong Memorial Hospital.  She is survived by her parents Amanda Rickard and James Caccamise of Byron.  Nana & Papa Caccamise, Grandma & Grandpa Rickard, Grandma Pietro and Grandma Luce & many Uncles.

We love you very much, you mean the world to both mommy and daddy. You passed way too soon.  It wasn't your time but you will never be forgotten and will always be with us.  You were loved by so many. We love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond, forever and ever! You will forever be our baby girl. We will love you forever and always, as long as we’re living, our baby you'll be.

Viola A. Wight, 86, of Batavia passed away on Monday March 9, 2015 at Batavia Health Care Center. She was born October 14, 1928 in Byron to the late Raymond (Mabel Calkins) Worthington. She is preceded in death by her husband Leon E.Wight Sr. and brothers Ray, Roy, Spencer and Don Worthington. 

Prior to retirement Viola worked at Houghton College. She was a member of the Alexander united Methodist Church. Viola loved being a mother, grandmother. and enjoyed taking care of her family.

She is survived by her loving children Karen (Paul) Keller of East Pembroke, Mona (Rodney) Kilner of Batavia, Connie (Robert) Fischetti of Grantsville, MD, Leon Wight Jr. of Batavia, Becky (Samuel) McBride of Lynchburg, VA, Jeffrey Wight of Batavia, Scott (Melinda) Wight of Colcord, OK; brother James (Charlene) Worthington of FL; sisters Winnie Cook of Warsaw, Zoey Spink of Batavia; 16 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild along with several nieces and nephews.

RUTH N. GREENE - age 88, of Batavia, NY died peacefully Saturday afternoon March 7, 2015 at the New York State Veterans Home @ Batavia. She was born December 7, 1926 in Caledonia, NY to the late Harry and Pauline (Boyce) Hotchkiss.

   Ruth was an avid golfer and enjoyed winters in Las Vegas with her husband. She always loved family functions and time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren

   Surviving is her beloved husband of 67 years, Edwin R. Greene, Sr. of Batavia; loving children; Jane (late Dennis) Glor, Joyce (Ken) Grazioplene and Edwin R. "Buddy" Greene, Jr. all of Oakfield; sister, Lois (Duane) Smith of CA; 4 grandchildren, Randy (Megan) Glor, David Glor, Michael (Shannon) Grazioplene and Jeffrey (Andrea) Grazioplene; 8 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Carson, Cady & Haylee Glor, Taylor, Zackary, Cole & Elizabeth Grazioplene along with several nieces and nephews.
