RICHARD C. "HUTCH" HUTCHINSON

By Michael Tomaszewski

Age 68, of Holley, died peacefully Thursday morning May 9, 2013 at his home. He was born October 14, 1944 in Rochester, NY to the late Richard and Helen (Hoard) Hutchinson, also preceded in death by his brother, James.

Mr. Hutchinson was a short order cook, car salesman, large machine salesman and found his niche as a C&C programmer; in 2010 he retired from Gettinge in Rochester and within 6 months found himself back to work due to his talents being missed. Hutch retired “for real” in January 2013 and what a shock, often was called back as a consultant. In his early years he enjoyed boating, camping and was a member of the St. Joe’s Drum & Bugle Corp. In 1969 he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1975. His passion for the Drum Corp. continued as he joined the Rochester Phoenix Sr. Drum & Bugle Corp. from 75-76, after many years of inactivity, Hutch became a charter member of the Mighty St. Joe’s Alumni Drum & Bugle Corp. He loved to vacation and travel with friends, including trips to Italy, England, Hawaii, Alaska and cruises to the Caribbean, was very fond of history, especially of WWII and enjoyed sharing this with others. Hutch enjoyed telling stories, was the best joke teller around, and had a contagious laugh, a passion and love for everyone he met with none bigger that the passion and love he had for his daughter, Mandy.

Surviving is his loving fiancé, Beverly (Groff) Fredericks of Holley; cherished daughter, Mandy of Rochester and her son, Caleb; sister-in-law, Pat Hutchinson; aunt, Carol Novosel; uncle, Richard Hoard along with many dear friends.
