Shawn P. Wolcott, Jr.

Batavia - Shawn P. Wolcott, Jr., 10, of Batavia, passed away Thursday, (September 5, 2013) at Women's & Children's Hospital, in Buffalo, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Shawn was born August 6, 2003 in Buffalo, a son of Shawn Wolcott, Sr. and Adeelah Anda (Makeen Ithna-Asheri) Wolcott, both of Batavia.

Shawn attended elementary school at John Kennedy and was looking forward to entering 5th grade.  He was a very special boy who touched the heart of everyone he met.  He was extremely loving, intelligent, and inquisitive.  He especially loved the Ghostbusters, origami, and his bike.  Shawn will be remembered by all who knew him as a very sensitive, caring, loving person.

Surviving along with his parents is his brother, Iben Makeen Ithna-Asheri of Batavia; Paternal grandmother, Mildred Wolcott of Batavia; Maternal Grandmother, Terry Youngs of Castile; Maternal grandfather, Jay Warner of AK; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shawn is preceded in death by his Paternal grandfather John H. Wolcott who passed away in 2005 and his paternal great-grandparents Clair and Shirley Folmar.   

Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia.   Shawn’s Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, (September 10, 2013) at the funeral home.   Memorials in Shawn's memory may be made to the family c/o Adeelah Anda Wolcott, 111 State Street, Apt. 3, Batavia, NY 14020.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Batavia.  Please leave a condolence, share a story or light a candle at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com.
