Richard A. Vogel

LeRoy ~ Richard A. Vogel, age 72, of Craigie Street, passed away at home early Friday morning (Oct. 25, 2013) in the presence of his loving family.

     Mr. Vogel was born April 7, 1941 in Rochester, a son of the late George and Genevieve LaBar Vogel.

     He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retiree of Case-Hoyt after 36 years of service.  Richard loved to travel and attend air shows.  He loved his family and feline companions, Snow, Midnight, Barney, Fred and Dumb Dumb.  Richard also enjoyed eating at his favorite restaurant, Settlers in Batavia, where he loved their fish, clam chowder and prime rib.  He wanted to thank them for several years of good food.

     He is survived by his loving wife, Lorritta M. Vogel, his children, Alan Vogel of AZ, Michael  Vogel of AZ, Samantha Vogel of AZ, Daniel Vogel of LeRoy and Bethany Vogel of Liverpool, his brothers, Norman (Phyllis) Vogel of CA, Edward (Barbara) Vogel of Rochester and John Vogel of Rochester, his sister, Theresa (Gary) Perkins of FL/Rochester, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, along with many nieces and nephews.

     Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 2 ~ 4 and 6 ~ 8 at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19).  His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish (St. Peter's Church), 44 Lake St., LeRoy.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Francis Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.
