LEONA B. NOGROSKY

LEONA B. NOGROSKY Age 99, of Batavia, died peacefully Thursday morning October 31, 2013 at the Genesee County Nursing Home. She was born November 20, 1913 in Rathmel, PA to the late Michel and Catherine (Stanisweski) Maxim also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Nogrosky; brothers, Michael, Stanley, Joseph, John & Raymond Maxim; sisters, Mary Gustimbell and Jule Dickey.

   Mrs. Nogrosky was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish (St. Mary's Site), a Eucharistic minister and volunteer at Bingo. She worked at Massey Harris, Pocketbook Factory, E.N. Rowell Box Factory, Chapin's and retired from GTE Sylvania, where she assisted in organizing the union. Leona volunteered as a driver/companion for senior citizens who were homebound and in her free time enjoyed sewing, reading and embroidery.

   Surviving is a loving daughter, Mary Ann (late Vincent) Spiotta of Batavia and loving son, Don Norse of Florida; 3 grandchildren, Vickie Klein, Samuel (Yvonne) Monachino and Scot Monachino; 2 great-grandchildren, Erin Klein and Maggie Grace Monachino along with several nieces and nephews.

   Family and friends may visit from 3-7 p.m. Sunday November 3, 2013 at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:00 a.m. Monday November 4 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary's Site). Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery and memorials are suggested to the Genesee County Nursing Home 278 Bank Street Batavia, New York 14020.
