TOMMIE L. MOBLEY, SR. ~ Batavia

City of Batavia's "Unofficial Mayor", died peacefully Sunday morning September 17, 2017 at his home while under the care of Hospice and his daughters, Carmen & Jeanette . He was born October 10, 1937 in Madison, FL to the late Berlin and Rosalee (Alexander) Mobley, also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Y. Mobley in 2014 and siblings, Bishop Aaron & Leroy Mobley. 

Tommie worked for many years at the Batavia VA Medical Center and the former Batavia Downs, he was a longtime member of the Highway of Holiness Church. A friend to all, he greeted everyone with a smile, handshake and his positive attitude! He had a deep love of family and friends always welcoming a visit to his home or heading out to visit them. 

Surviving are his loving children, Bobbie L. Mobley of Batavia, Tommie L. Mobley, Jr. of Rochester, Carmen E. Vega of LeRoy, Michael T. Mobley of Maryland, Marcus L. Mobley of Batavia, B. Jeanette Filbert of Batavia and Jeanine M. Mobley of Batavia; sister, Irma Lane of Jacksonville, FL along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The Mobley family will be present from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Friday September 22, 2017 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020, please join them 11:00am Saturday September 23 at City Church 122 Liberty Street Batavia where a Celebration of Life will be held. He will be laid to rest alongside his wife in Grand View Cemetery and memorials in his memory can be made to HomeCare & Hospice, Inc. or Genesee Cancer Assistance, Inc.
