Alfonso S. Attardi

Alfonso S. Attardi, 85, of Batavia passed away on Sunday June 22, 2014 at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born on May 17, 1929 in Batavia to the late Dominick and Vanera (Maio) Attardi. He is preceded in death by his sister Angeline Giordano.

Mr. Attardi was a United States Army Veteran. He  was a former employee at GTE Sylvania and worked for Philips Manufacturing in Knoxville, Tennessee before retiring. Alfonso enjoyed fishing, golfing, the casinos and most importantly his family. He was a member of Ascension Parish, past member of Stafford Country Club and life member of the former St. Nicholas Social Club.

Alfonso is survived by his beloved wife Jeannette F. (Pricola) Attardi, son Dominic (Jill) Attardi of Farmington, daughters Vanessa (Philip) Overfield of Webster; Jamie (Francis) O’Mara of Hilton, grandchildren Michael (Erin); Andrew; Nicole; and Adrienne Overfield, Danielle and Shawn O’Mara, Sophia, Dominick and Angelo Attardi, great-grandchildren Kayla Overfield-Magana and Joseph Schultz survive along with many nieces and nephews.  

There will be no prior calling hours. Prayers will be recited 9:30 AM on Wednesday June 25, 2014 at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020 followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension Parish, 15 Sumner Street Batavia, New York 14020. He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia
