Gertrude K. Beswick

Mrs. Gertrude K. Beswick, 92, wife of the late Robert L. Beswick, who died in 2005, died Sunday (August 31, 2014) at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville.

She was born December 10, 1921 in Matheson, Ontario, a daughter of the late Ludwig and Ester Nordstrum Nyquist.

Mrs. Beswick enjoyed gardening and was an accomplished seamstress. Before her husband's passing they frequently traveled, often times with the men he served with in the US Army during WWII.  She was especially fond of her cat, Lily and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Batavia.

Survivors include three children, Stephen L. Beswick of Batavia, Pamela (Rodney) Herdegon of Batavia and Bruce (Doreen) Beswick of Rye, NY; six granddaughters,  Kelley Caffo, Jamie Beswick, Stacey Daprizio, Stephanie D'Alba, Kathryn Johnston and Allison Beswick; four great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews. 

She is the sister of the late Ester M. Scoins and M. Lillian Rice.

Calling hours are Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia.  Services will be Saturday at 11:00 am at St. James Episcopal Church, 405 East Main St., Batavia.  Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia.
