Shirley A. Bermingham

Shirley A. Bermingham, 82, of Batavia passed away after a 6 year battle with cancer on Wednesday March 18, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center. She was born January 25, 1933 in Oakfield to the late Ralph (Cleda Cayea) Bowen. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas A. Bermingham and son Stacey T. Bermingham.

Shirley was a supervisor for New York Telephone Company in Batavia and then went on to work as a switchboard operator at St. Jerome’s Hospital for 23 years. The family would like to extend their thanks to both Doctor Wisa and Doctor Mudd for the fantastic care they provided Shirley.

She is survived by her daughter Shelley Bermingham of Batavia; brother Sherwin (Janet) Bowen of Greenwich, sister Suzanne Christ of Williamsville; sisters-in-law Rita Potwora of Batavia, Elizabeth Hakes of Batavia along with several nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 12:00 Noon Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 21, 2015 at Resurrection Parish (St.Joseph’s) 303 East Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
