Jane Zehler Smigelski, 90 of Batavia passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Batavia Health Care Center. 

She was born on March 9, 1927 in Batavia to the late Benjamin and Helena (Weldgen) Zehler.

She was a lifetime member of Resurrection Parish. A homemaker, she spent her adult life devoted to her family and home.  In earlier years, she worked for Coca-Cola.  She will be remembered for her cheerful smile, positive attitude, her loving kindness, and her ability to see the beauty in all of God’s creation.

Jane is predeceased by her beloved husband, Leon Smigelski, siblings William and Harold (Norma) Zehler and sister Mary Zehler Fiebelkorn. 

She is survived by her son, Michael (Sheryl) Smigelski of Batavia, 3 grandsons, Jerrod Smigelski, Derrick Smigelski, and Peter Saxman along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Wednesday (January 31st) from 2-6pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10:30am at Resurrection Parish, 303 E. Main St., Batavia. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
