DONALD A. "DAPPER DAN" BERARDINI, SR. ~ Batavia 

Age 88, of Batavia, NY died peacefully Monday evening May 14, 2018 at the Batavia Healthcare Center. He was born in January 28, 1930 in Batavia a son of the late Donato and Assunta (Bellucci) Berardini also preceded in death by his beloved wife Angeline "Angie" (Tenebruso) Berardini in 2011. 

Donald was a 1947 graduate of Batavia High School, was drafted into the Army in 1953 and served honorably in the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home he worked for Sylvania where he was a Union Steward and worked many years as a Mutual Clerk for Batavia Downs. A lifelong member of Ascension Parish (former St. Anthony's), volunteered on the Lawn Fete committee for many years, a founding member/life member of the former St. Nicholas Club, VFW Post #1602 and an avid NY Yankees fan. Oddly enough Don never had a drivers license but enjoyed trips to the casinos and playing cards. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. 

Surviving are his loving children, Donald A. (Terri) Berardini, Jr. of Lake Forest, IL, Suzanne (Donald) Jensen of Binghamton, Michael Berardini of Rochester, Eva (Steve) Owens of Clayton, NC, Brian (Frances) Berardini of Clayton, NC and Paul (Jessica Radam) Berardini of Batavia; 16 cherished grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Josie) Berardini of Webster, Betty Daly of Arizona, Robert (Sue) Berardini of Batavia and Diane (late Jerry) Martino of Batavia along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The family will be present from 1-4 & 5-8pm Thursday May 17, 2018 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:30am  Friday May 18 followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial Ascension Parish. He and his late wife will be interred in the future Veterans Cemetery in Pembroke and memorials in his memory are suggested to the church.
